Shaun: "Funnily enough, they weren't backed into a corner till you showed up. I understand 817 did something, but how is that any different from [Earth]'s Pokémon? Lightning isn't afraid of every Luxray she sees."

Tsunami: <Why kill them? Because they resisted being attacked?>

Jessica: <That's mean.>

Route 12, Yesterday.

-Frieden looks to the area Shaun is in. And frowns. Eleck goes for another Thunder-

Frieden: ....... It shot at you, didn't' it?

-The Celesteela screeches and Automizes again. They look around once more, more frantic this time.-

Shaun: "It was scared! If I was in their shoes - not that it has any - I would've done the same thing."

-Jessica frowns. An orb of light flies from her tails to the clouds, and the sun peeks through. No more rain falls.-

Route 12

-Frieden gets close to Shaun, very. close.-

Frieden: Well, that means it felt cornered already, doesn't it?

Krieg: All right, Magma! Fireblast!

-Magma is sent out and with swift motion, blasts two flames of fire that shapes itselves into the kanji for fire directly at the Celesteela-

Tapu Repair Shop

-Alex moves an arm. Then a leg-

Alex: Feels fine.

Route 17

-Urban faints from the Crunch thanks to his decreased Defense-

-Alli sends out Gerald-

Gerald: <Gerald, center stage!>

-He tries a Surf-

-The Krokorok roars as they are hit. They stamp their feet, causing the ground to shake.-

Planet Dross

The joy from Logan faded as he heard the voice, "Hello Case. Long time no see, what took you so long to get involved?" he asked dodging fire from Silas.

Silas wasn't even aiming to hit, merely to drive him further away.

As for Dexter, he put the burn on to evade the three coming for him. Two of which he knew had a grudge, "Okay... you wanna play that way? I can fight 3 on one!"

Kevin saw Phaz fly to his side and just smirked, "It's as Shifter says. Nothing personal, a job's a job." He attempted to then ram Phaz's fighter.

Shifter rolled aileron and avoided the shot, "My eyes can see many things, such as you trying my tricks on me."

Route 17

-Gerald is rocked by the Earthquake, but stays stable-

Gerald: <Well, Alli? Time to show we can make more than just waves!>

Alli: Let's try making something bigger.

-She activates her Z-Ring, causing Gerald to glow blue and envelop the Krokorok in a massive whirlpool-

With that she engaged her afterburners, tring to not only get behind but also over Shifter's fighter, though given the distance, mostly over, all the while she continued to fire carefully aimed (if likely futile) shots from her cannon.

-Jean, Dave, and Mia head after Dexter, Mia swooping in close for blaster fire-

What's that dude's problem..? "Hey, don't just charge in before we've got things figured out!"

-Sack tries relying on the auto shooting mechanism he had installed, to see if that can hit or distract Shifter-

Dross Skies

(Strangely, while the other three members of Solar Flare are off curbstomping Mooks in droves, Case is not. Her fighter hovers in circles around the Logan-Silas battle, keeping just enough distance from them to ensure she isn't caught in the crossfire, not engaging Logan herself... yet.)

Case: We decided to take the scenic route to the planet's surface. I'd... secretly been hoping to put this encounter off as long as possible. But it was always going to happen, here. I never tried to convince myself otherwise.

Route 12(Yesterday)

-Frieden looks at Daydre.-

Frieden: We already figured things out. We figured out that pieces of shits like that, shouldn't be alive. Eleck!

-Eleck fires a thunder bolt at the Celesteela.-

-The Lightning Bolt never hits the Celesteela. It's intercepted by Tsumami, who clenches her beak in pain.-

Shaun: "Alright asshole, no one said you got to call everything."

-He grabs four Poké Balls and releases them.-

Shaun: *to Krieg* "I'm sorry for what's about to happen. You seem like a cool guy."

-Shaun releases four Pokémon - a Staraptor, a Roserade, a shiny Pikachu, and an Alolan Vulpix. Shaun beckons them, and they all - along with Tsumami and Jessica - stand next to each other, facing Frieden and the rest.-

Shaun: "You can stop attacking - or you can go through us."

Ace: <One member of the species does not represent all of them.>

Jamie: <Yeah!>

-He stamps his feet. the clouds roll back in; the temperature drops. It's hailing.-

Ruby: <Now boys, don't get any ideas.>

Lightning: <I don't like bullies.>

-The Celesteela seems suprised, but Automizes again.-

Celesteela: {Are you...protecting me?}

-Shaun looks at Daydre.-

Shaun: "As long as you don't hurt them without being provoked, you're cool."

Krokorok: -Gets his Attack lowered and tries retaliating with a noticeably weaker Fire Fang-

 Malie City Outskirts, today 

-We are currently in front of a distressed looking Celesteela-

Celesteela: {I've been stuck in this horrible place for oh so long...}

-They then focus their attention on our group and come over, the size disparity being clear to see-

Celesteela: {Oh?}

Muddy: <Tagg, I'm not too sure about this...>

Well we need another Ultra Beast besides Exgal so we'll try talking it out with this one.

Celesteela: -To Helios, Muddy, and I in particular, smiling- {You... seem like home. Take me home... take me home... take me home!}

...Through the bits and pieces I can actually understand... that doesn't sound good. And that smile... it's more like a primate mon baring its teeth before attacking-

Celesteela: -Flaring up with an aura that I notice isn't too dissimilar from a Totem mon's Aura signature, smile growing sharper as their Aura reflects a combination of rage and panicked distress- {Y-You won't take me home from this horrible place? I'll beat a wormhole out of you then!}

-To the Celesteela-

I guess a fight is unavoidable in that case?

-After Dectecting past a Flash Cannon that blows away part of the bamboo forest us-

Seems some things can only be expressed through battle...

-And we reluctantly take up fighting positions-

Route 12 (Yesterday)

-Frieden's expression does not change. However Frieden emits an aura so cold that even Jamie would feel it. He calmly takes off his glasses and cleans it.-

Frieden:....... You know what this means, right? Well, let me tell you one thing because it seems you all are hell-bent on protecting that..........thing. You better be prepared to take the consequences of trying to express your, 'Heroic and kind' actions and going against the authority. The world doesn't remember people by their actions. The world only remembers people by the result they leaves. And the world will remember you all as the fool who thought an Ultra beast could be their friend, and done in for foolishly believing they'll be fine after challenging the authority. AL, THE ROCK!

-The Rock flashes out and charges straight at Jessica, white aura enveloping him. Cro uses toxic on Ace which, thanks to his poison type, should be a gauranteed hit. Magma digs his hands in the ground and and two large bright spots appear beneath both Jamie and Ruby, before erupting and spewing out streams of magma. Al materialises psychic energy and shoots them like a shotgun at Ruby. Gen forms from the shadows of Krieg and charges up a blue ball in his mouth, and fires it like a cannon at Tsunami.-

Al: <One member of the species does not represent all of them, but five of them is gauranteed to represent their base nature.>

-Eleck walks up to Lightning.-

Eleck: <Hey.......>

-Eleck stomps the ground that makes the heavy tremors in the route.-

-Becky tries to swing out of the Fire Fang's way, but still gets struck by some of the embers-

Becky: <Ehehe... Now who's being repetitive?>

-She tries sucking more of the Krokorok's health away with a Giga Drain-

-All the attacks hit, except for the Accelrock. Jessica sidestepped that.-

Jessica: <Missed me!>

Shaun: "Five out of hundred, a thousand? I'm doing what I think is right. Oh, and I don't recognize your authority."

Ruby: <And I thought you two were more than mindless savages...>

Lightning: <I..I thought you were nice!>

Tsunami: <You'll regret that.>

-Shaun turns around.-

Shaun: "I don't know if you can understand me, but run. Hide. I'll find you again."

Celesteela: {I don't understand what you say...but I understand what you do.}

-Tsunami shoots a Hydro Pump at Magma. Lightning, a Thundebolt at Cro. Jessica uses Payback on Al. Ace use his namesake, an Aerial Ace, directed at Gen. Ruby uses Giga Drain on The Rock, and last but not least, Jamie uses retreats behind Shaun and uses Aurora Veil, protecting everyone - including Shaun.-

Ace: <I really hope they understood!>

-And the Celesteela did. They float higher and begin to fly away - towards Poni Island.-

The Academy

-Tanya sits in the waiting room.-

*tictic. tic. tic-tic-tictictic. tic. tic.*

-She doesn't know how long she'd been waiting.-

*tic tictic tic-tic tic. tic. tictictictic-tic... tic*

-The clocks. Those... those goddamn clocks.-

*tic. tictic. ticicicicicic-tic-tic tic... tic tic*

-There's no rhythm. There's no downswing. Just that random ticking, over, and over.-

-She can't even focus on her own heartbeat. She can't find it in the mess of sound and chaos that permeates the room.-

-Tanya releases a breath she didn't know she was holding, and bolts for the door. She enters the Principal's office, ragged and dazed.-

The Principal: ~Subject 100. Tell me...~

-Tanya can barely parse the disdain being thought at her.-

The Principal: ~Are you broken? Because I assure you, we did not create you to fail.~

-Tanya's eye water.-

The Principal: ~We not only have one, not two, but three Subjects from this last class unconfirmed. Three.~

-What?! Three? She knew of Wolfram, and Bromine - who was this third?!-

The Principal: ~Under your watch, we have experienced the worst containment breach in the history of the School - worse than even the Obscura years.~

-Tanya wept into her lap as the disappointment weighed down on her.-

The Principal: ~You are very lucky that you are not decommissioned here and now. You are to, first, relocate Subject 22. You are then to assign a Templar detachment to observe her movements. And then, you are to locate base of the recent grey-clad interlopers that assaulted the Templars assigned to hunt Subject 35, and deal with them.~

-Tanya finally is driven to speak.-

Tanya: ~I can take Wolfram, I promise! She has just awakened, I can catch her off guard, and-

-Tanya is slammed against the wall as the Principal shakes her head, slowly. A crushing grip closes around the yellow-eyed girl's windpipe.-

The Principal: ~I will not be questioned. This new group has been working under the radar for far too long, and their bravado in directly interfering with our operations will not be stood for. Kill them first.~

-Tanya is dropped before she can muster an answer, her neck swelling with bruises and trauma.-

The Principal: ~Now go.~

-Tanya runs out of the room, feeling broken.-

Route 12, Past

Daydre sends out Mr. Bitey, intending to back up Shaun with him and Rowan.

"Oh, great..." Daydre mutters. "Bitey, Iron Head on the Crobat. Rowan, help out the .. uh, is that what an Alolan Vulpix looks like? Huh- wait, I'm getting distracted. Help that dude's mons out!"

Mr. Bitey runs out to go do just that, while Rowan stands by to assist Shaun's mons.

Route 12

Frieden: Don't worry, I don't acknowledge your shitty existence in this world anyway.

-Eleck and Magma looks like they don't want to fight, but due to Frieden's glaring they have no choice but to follow orders. They shut their eyes and proceeds a counter attack. Magma dodges the hydro pump and goes in close to Tsunami.-

Magma: <Forgive me, orders are..... absolute.>

-Magma goes for a thunder pummeling on Tsunami.-

Eleck: <Frieden's annoyed, you won't like him when he's..... mildly livid.>

-He goes for a flame barrage on Ruby. Cro weaves through the thunder bolt and iron head thanks to his speed, and proceeds to use defog to cancel the Aurora Veil. Gen uses Venosock on the now badly poisoned Ace before getting hit by the Arial Ace. The Rock takes the Giga drain and charges at Ruby, flame spewing from his mouth, and attempts to bite down on Ruby Al takes the Payback and uses the opportunity of Jessica being close to him to envelope her in blue light and dash her against the ground. .-

Al: <You'll see what a survivor of 817 is capable of.>

-From Frieden's back, Bad company appears and soars after the Celesteela, with a GPS on it's collar.-

Frieden: Remember, you alone cannot take it on. Just tail it and send us the location.

Leeya: -waves- Hey Gudrunn!

Reina: Greetings, Lady Gudrunn.

Gudrunn: Say, I have a question for you, Leeya.

Leeya: Yes?

-Gudrunn pulls up her sleeve to show her scarred tatoos-

Gudrunn: That Nihilego I faced impaired my Obscura powers with its venom...

-She lets off a few weak Dark Pulses to demonstrate-

...But I know you of all people can engineer a cure.

-Leeya inspects the scars carefully-

Leeya: I think I can... But I'd need Nihilego venom. Preferably from the one that did it.

-Gudrunn furrows her brow for a second before grinning. Reina raises an eyebrow-

Gudrunn: This... This is actually convenient! Thank you so much for that knowledge, Leeya, I'll get back to you once I secure that venom!

-She heads off-

Leeya: Well, that went well.

Reina: ...Too well. I suspect something is up.

Leeya: Actually, I think something is north.

Reina: That's not how the saying goes.

Leeya: Ridiculous! No one tells Leeya which way is north!

Reina: -groans- I'll investigate this myself then.

-she heads off after Gudrunn-

Route 16

-Keith!Robin is here with Sam-

Keithbin: So, I brought you here to ask you some questions.

Sam: <Yeah?>

Keithbin: As we both know, Team Umbra's mons were not taken by The Fanatic, but remained confiscated in their Pokeballs in that prison we were all held in.

Sam: <Yeah, they were.>

Keithbin: OK, first, do you know if any other than you escaped?

Sam: <I know Duolis managed to not be incarcerated at all! Slippery girl. I haven't seen any trace of her since, though, but I've heard some weird rumors about sightings that sound like her around Alola...>

Keithbin: Right, so finding her's a priority. But do you know anything we can do to break the others out?

Sam: <That's the problem. Those guys are tough, even I had trouble getting past them. I could help you with a battle plan, but it might take a bit longer than usual...>

Keithbin: Great...

Sam: <What would help is if we had some sorta secret weapon, like some powerful thing they didn't see coming...>

Keithbin: But wha-

-Suddenly he pauses. Then gets a maniacal smile on his face◊-

Sam: ...Ohoho, how wonderful. I like that look on you, Robin, what do you have in mind?

-Meanwhile, a certain Buzzwole, Nihilego, and Xurkitree are moving about in the trees-

Oscillot: {Hm, well, I heard they might be somewhere around here…}

Jelly Belly: {Well, are you sure it wasn't that icky Guardian thing that came up awhile ago?}

The Tick: {Trust me, we'll know it was them by the bite mar-}

-Spots Locke-

{Ah! A human! Stay vigilant, all, we want to leave a good impression!}

-Oscillot, on hearing the word 'human' darts quickly out of view-

-Locke, on sensing movement, jerks his head in Oscillot's direction. Kagura does the same.-

-Oscillot tries their best to hide themselves-

-Kagura has none of that shit and uses Stone Edge to chop down the tree cover, exposing the Ultra Beasts-

The Tick: {...Welp.}

-Oscillot begins sparking defensively-

-Jelly Belly backs up and readies her tentacles-

-The Tick, however... Waves.-

Jelly Belly: {...What are you doing?!}

The Tick: {From my observations of humans this is apparently a friendly gesture! Hello! We mean you no harm!}

-Locke and Kagura, after staring in shock, wave hi back-

-Oscillot, still sparking, gives a nervous wave-

-Jelly Belly hesitantly waves-

Locke: -to Kagura- What's going on here?

Kagura: <I dunno, but I'd like to take the fact they haven't tried to kill us yet as a good sign.>

Oscillot: {Well… they're not attacking us, I suppose.}

The Tick: {Gentlebeasts... This calls for diplomacy!}

Jelly Belly: {Yaaaaay.}

-They cautiously approach Locke and Kagura-

-Eventually they are face to face-

Locke: Um... What do you guys want?

Oscillot: {...What now?}

The Tick: {They're still speaking nonsense.}

Jelly Belly: {There's gotta be a way to break the language barrier, but what?}

-Suddenly, Locke gets an idea, and pulls out his cell phone, flipping through it-

The Tick: {It's using one of its do-anything rectangles!}

Jelly Belly: {Why though?}

Oscillot: {Maybe they're trying to communicate too?}

-As if to confirm Oscillot's statement Locke shows them a picture of outer space-

Oscillot: {Hm… that's quite pretty. Sort of similar.}

The Tick: {It's a bit nostalgic.}

Jelly Belly: {Do they have any more?}

-Locke then shows them a picture of the ocean-

Oscillot: {Haven't seen as much of that…}-]}

The Tick: {That's a lot of water. K Inda like all around this island. I give it a seven out of ten.}

Jelly Belly: {Can you swim in it?}

-Locke then shows an underwater cavern-

Oscillot: {That looks more homey… Bit wet, but…}

The Tick: {It looks comfy. Mabye-}

Jelly Belly: -gasps- {It looks just like home!}

-She cautiously reaches out towards Locke's phone-

Kagura: <Um, what's that thing doing?>

Locke: They all seem to be reacting to what's familiar to them...

Oscillot: {...You trying to take that thing from them?}

Jelly Belly: {I want to touch it... Maybe there's a mini Ultra Space inside...}

Oscillot: {I somewhat doubt that.}

-Jelly Belly fiddles with the phone screen... and suddenly flips to a very loud video of this:-

Oscillot: {Agh! Turn it off!}

Jelly Belly: {The device has turned against us!}

The Tick: {Human, make it stop!}

Locke: -looks at his phone and blinks- How did you pull this up? -pauses the video-

Oscillot: {Ugh, maybe you shouldn't fiddle with stuff you don't understand, Jelly Belly.}

Jelly Belly: {This whole dimension is a thing we don't understand!}

The Tick: {Well we can't understand it if you two don't-}

Locke: You guys OK?

-The three Ultra Beasts pause. Jelly Belly hesitantly waves again-

The Tick: {Let's try this on for size...}

-Gives Locke a thumbs up. Locke blinks and gives a thumbs up back.

Kagura: <You're really attempting small talk with extradimensional invaders?>

Locke: Hey, it seems to be working.

Oscillot: {Then I suppose..}

-Oscillot tries waving their arms around and glowing a bit-

-Locke waves his arms a bit in response-

Oscillot: {Well, guess we can do body language, if nothing else…}

Jelly Belly: Wait! T His gives me an idea! I could practice gestures for that one human! Now to find a place...}

-they head off-

Oscillot: {...And I'm out of ideas for gestures myself. Goodbye.}

-They slink off-

-The Tick looks around before giving one last thumbs up to Locke before heading after the others-

-Locke and Kagura blink, then turn to each other.-

Kagura: <What was that all about?>

Locke: I dunno... But they didn't seem hostile, more looking for something familiar...

- -

Familiar... Kagura, that's it!

-He runs off-

Kagura: <Wait, what the hell is "it"?>

-she chases after-

Later, at Aether Paradise

-Gladion hears three distinct knocks at his door. He sighs and goes to answer them-
