-Gets the idea to try getting backup... only to note the sudden large amount of Golbat surrounding us and decides it isn't worth the risk of potentially provoking thousands of mons, even if they did still stand a fair chance of winning.-

-After the encounter yesterday that was equal parts startling and awkward, Pent has made his way back out onto the Route to head to his first Trial-
Alright, so as far as I've heard there isn't going to be any punchies in this Trial so you don't have to worry just yet.

-Yep, there was the Trial Attendant from Ten Carat Hill standing at the entrance of Verdant Cavern with a barrier set up. Pent steps up and eyes the barrier for a few moments before showing his Trainer Passport-
I know what it looks like but I'm actually on my Trial this time.
-The attendant looks past Pent before looking back at the passport-
Trial Attendant: And the Captain?
Do we need the Captain? I know how this goes: Progress resets if you leave the cave, can't catch anything in the cave before completing the trial, find and defeat three Yungoos or Rattata and then head to the back.
Trial Attendant: No Trial Captain, no Trial.
... Fine, do you know where they are?
-The Attendant shrugs-
Trial Attendant: Dunno, in town?

Route 2, an hour later
-Pent is back after spending the hour searching Hau'oli City and Iki Town-
Ilmia wasn't there.
Trial Attendant: Yeah, they were at the graveyard. Stopped by before heading up to Route 3.
Okay... Guess I'm searching there.
-Pent turns to leave... Before noticing an identical barrier blocking the way to Route 3-
Trial Attendant: No Trial, no Route 3.
And when is she getting back from Route 3?
Trial Attendant: The Captain is a boy. Also I don’t know.
Listen, I’ve never met the person I just know the name. And can’t you like, phone her or something?
Trial Attendant: Don’t have the number. Also again, Ilmia is a boy.
I have a rich headcanon based on what I’ve heard of this person and it’s tough to just alter that on the fly. But fine, guess I'm camping out here. >:I
