-Cid's thoughts wandered, as they do during his outings to meet his associate Dr. Orlandeau. Back years, they'd go, and yet would always stop at a point where-

Bedman: ~Boss, we got something.~

-Cid snaps from his reverie.-

Cid: Police?

Bedman: ~Nope, but it's moving FAST, and it feels really really hungry.~

Cid: A Snorlax on a binge?

Bedman: ~Unless Snorlax can FLY, then no.~

-Cid and his Alakazam duck behind a copse of trees and wait as the Alakazam counts down on his fingers until the thing he feels comes into view.-

-Three...-

-Two...-

-One...-

-A Pidgeot, to Cid's incredulity, screams through the trees, breaking off branches and diving over rocks. It quickly speeds past Cid's hiding spot and starts to wheel around.-

Bedman: ~... Oh I think he saw us.~

-The Pidgeot begins to gain altitude.-

Cid: He's preparing to dive. Watch yourself.

-Before Cid can even finish, the Pidgeot divebombs the Alakazam with a Brave Bird. His speed and ferocity give Cid pause, and Bedman a very close shave as he Teleports out of the way. The Pidgeot wheels around for a second dive with surprising agility.-

Cid: Shock Wave. Bring that thing down.

-The Alakazam pulses lightning, zapping the bird on his descent, but not dissuading him from his target. The Pidgeot impacts Bedman and the Alakazam crumples under the impact.-

Cid: What...?!

-The Pidgeot, ignoring its wounds, once again dives at the Alakazam, his talons out and hunger in its eyes. Cid finally identifies the source of the Pidgeot's power - desperation.-

Cid: Oh no you don't.

-Cid snaps a wrist out, flinging an Ultra Ball that releases a monster of a Slaking.-

Cid: Gonzales! Restrain!

-The Pidgeot ducks and weaves around the Slaking's mass, his eyes still intent on the meal he'd made for himself, until the hulking humanoid's hand whips around and nearly crushes the life from between the bird's relatively frail ribs.-

-Gonzales grunts as the bird furiously flails in his grasp. Annoying bird. Stupid bird. Be less stupid.-

-Gonzales then flicks the bird on the side of the head, and it goes limp in his hand.-

-Much better. Stupid bird now asleep.-

Cid: Interesting...

-Cid recalls Bedman - he can always use Hector for teleports - and beckons to his Slaking.-

Cid: Gonzales. Bring him here.

-The Slaking yawns and drops the bird at Cid's feet. The scientist looks the bird over - scars covered the Pidgeot's wings and chest, and the distinct knots of broken and healed bones were a common site on both the legs and wings. This Pidgeot, for whatever reason, had made itself many enemies over the years.-

-Cid scratched his chin, running his fingers through his short beard hair.-

-He could use this.-

-An Ancient Power flies at the armorlessbite from offscreen where someone's totally been helping out the whole time-

Aero: <How long have we been down here anyway? Feels like I haven't seen Tori in months...>

Oreburgh Mines

-The Ancient Power rocks hit the Gabite in the face, bounce up into the air while knocking it down to the ground, and comes crashing back down onto its face again, knocking it out in the most spectacular, trick-shot-y fashion.-

Samus: <Unfortunately, it's not easy to tell. I have a distinct feeling the glitches that have been phazon phasing us in and out of existence have been preventing us from aging while we're under their effects as well.>

-Speaking of which, the world around them goes blurry for a moment...-

time, nor are their expeditions. Now, it seems as if the world around them is sputtering.

skipped through Dia▒▒▒s very home. Every power they once lost, they have recovered, and ▒▒ceu▒s Plates

-It opens up to an expansive room, which seems equal parts laboratory and battlefield. A number of cryogenic experiment chambers line the back wall, including one massive one right in the middle. The contents are obscured, but there are a number of Gabite rushing around-

-They rush to their computers and start typing frantically. Four of the smaller chambers, the ones closest to the gigantic one in the middle, open up and reveal four horrifically deformed glitchy Garchomp-

-They awaken and stare at the group.-

Samus: <Looks like it's time to end this.>

Mezzo: <So wait. In addition to everything else, I'm gonna be 20 forever? That's...>

-...-

Mezzo: <Actually, I'm okay with that. Even if it turns me into an immortal vampire. Especially if it turns me into an immortal vampire.>

-she then notices the Glitchchomp fast approaching-

Mezzo: <Dammit.> -fires a Dark Pulse at the nearest one-

-Eventually the girl's wandering led her to a storage shed. Inside the building was empty save for the tall grass growing in a place of the floor here and there-

-Suddenly a Mimiga in a green vest popped out of the grass flailing a stick around blindly as she charged at Tori who jumped back in surprise, only to watch her trip over her own attempt at ferocity and land on her face-

<Owowow... That's it, I'm done for now>

-Beat-

Tori: "Are you okay...?"

-Beat-

-The Mimiga sits up, looking confused for a moment-

????: <...You're not with the doctor?>

Tori: "Pretty sure I haven't met this doctor, so nope"

????: <Oh, well, he's terrible. Always kidnapping us Mimiga to make us work for her, and threatening us if we don't cooperate...>

-Beat-

<Ah! Wait, you're the girl from earlier!>

-The Mimiga girl hops to her feet, then bows a little-

???Toroko: <I'm Tokoro. Sorry about that, I thought you were one of the doctor's minions, or were King trying to take my key again>

-She wrings her paws nervously-

<I... Know he just wants to protect us... B-but I can't let him hand Iggy over to the doctor! So please, could you not tell him where I'm hiding?>

-The door falls down as an aggron bursts into the room through a fresh hole in the wall-

-She smirks, and waves her staff. Suddenly Toroko is trapped, flailing, in a bubble that floats up off the ground toward the ceiling-

"No matter, the Doctor wants to see you~ Stark, take care of the extra for me"

-Maria floats up after the bubble, and soon both are out of sight-

Toroko: <Noooo- Wait, you've got this all wroooong!>

Stark: <Hmph, there Maria goes again trying to take the credit for my work!>

-He crosses his arms, then turns and looks Tori over for a moment-

<So, got no pokemon I see. You gonna fight me with that little toy gun of yours or what?>

Tori: "Wha-? no! Stark, why would I fight you?"

Stark: <Okay then>

-With a shrug he leaves out the aggron shaped hole where the door used to be and disappears nearly as suddenly as he showed up, leaving a very confused Tori behind scratching her head as she tries to figure out just what's going on. With the silent walls giving no answer she turns to leave, but pauses as a glint of light reflected off the metal key lying on the floor catches her eye-
