-The magma of the volcano cauldron bubbles and seethes as the Heatran of the caldera looks skyward. Normally he would be asleep, as few challengers approached the peak of Mt. Battle at so late an hour. But, unlike most nights, a question weighed on his mind. A question he had not considered for a long time.-

Heatran: <Hrmmmmm...>

-Over a year ago - or was it two? Time is hard to track at his age - he had been entrapped by the machinations of a group of criminals bound to destabilize the region. His imprisonment and subsequent corruption were short-lived, however, as a group of brave humans had sought his release. One in particular, a native to these lands, had braved the Heatran's shadowy wrath to snag him from the clutches of an unstable criminal mastermind. The Heatran did not have much to give in favor - he was no mystic, and certainly no Groudon. He could not even travel like the Beasts or the Birds. All he had to give was a lump of alloyed metals he had found deep in the heart of the volcano. But here was the rub.-

Heatran: <Hrrrrmmmmmmph...>

-Where did this lump come from? When did it form? He did not remember... which should not be. He remembers every event of the volcano's life, no matter how blurry or minor, he at least remembers it happening. He knew the lump was created in his volcano, but...-

Heatran: <Hrmph. I'm not going to be able to get a wink of sleep until this is off my mind.>
