She rolls forward, leather pants squeaking a little. Her hammer is slung over her shoulder.

Blue: What else do we have? You, other guy, don't know your name, you're what, White Mage? And Joe, what do you have for skills? Some sort of magic?

THUD THUD

Joseph: I've got flowers~

-scatters pollen above his head with a poof-

-Robin frowns-

Robin: ...I'm guessing what you found wasn't exactly pleasant.

Jacob: "Jacob. And... I can't heal. I can tank though. I think I just look like this to be embarrassed and suffer. I can take damage for other people and help them increase their damage output. I can also burn things."

-Looks at the source of the thudding- "Well. This'll be fun." -He steps back and waves his staff at Red increasing her damage output and intake-

Vyvyan: Actually... it's where I met Sandy, though at the time that was not his name.

Scape

The thudding stops.

Dreamcaster: Sanity reduced by 40.

Red: That can't be good.

A cloud of shadow rolls down the alley, billowing like smoke, yet deeper... there are points of lights, like distant stars, visible in the haze. Rapidly it overtakes the group.

Blue: Hmm. Cover.

A rattling growl echoes off the walls.

Two much greater lights appear, level with each other.

The Cat Beast has appeared.

Meteor Falls

Robin: ...Santiago... He's like you, only a Groudon... What happened when you met him?

Jscapes

Jacob: "Waste of time." -He waves his staff as the beast is lit with flames-

Alleyscape

Joseph: ACK! Oh geez um...

-he flicks his wrist and summons a vine to tangle up the cat beast's leg, using Thornwood Vines-

Dreamcaster: Sanity reduced by 20.

Dreamcaster: Sanity reduced by 20.

The Cat Beast screeches as it is burned, recoiling. Then, vines thrust up from the ground and tangle its feet, stabbing it with thorns.

All this is hard to see in the black haze.

Red: HRAAAAGH!

She swings her hammer at the beast, head crunching into its flank.

Meanwhile, Blue shoots a few normal arrows, most of which the Cat Beast dodges.

Scape

Joseph: OK, is everyone doing OK? Need any help?

-he unfurls the flower chain from his arm and sweeps it across the alleyway, causing a painful whiplash to the cat beast before it wraps back around his arm-

J-Scapes

Jacob: -He steps back and simply observes, not reacting one way or the other quite yet-

Meteor Falls

Vyvyan: Well, when I checked, I found a tunnel that I never recall seeing there before. Maybe recent tectonic movement dislodged a few rocks or something. And, having natural human curiosity - I followed down to an abandoned lab area.

At the time, it seemed like a Splinter Group had been conduction weird experiments behind the leaders back. I focused mainly on the texts and papers scattered around rather than the experiment in the tubes which I thought was sterile and dead.

Turned out to be a lot more lively than expected...

Scapes

The cat ducks under the chain, hissing.

It reaches out one massive paw at Red, batting her aside. She crashes into the wall, hard.

Red: -coughing up some blood- shit.

Blue: RED!

She fires off an Ice Arrow. Roll: 93/100.

Dreamcaster: Sanity reduced by 5. Roil increased by 10.

She scores a headshot, ice spearing out from within the Cat Beast's head, splattering gore and bone fragments everywhere.

Alleyscape

Joseph: !!!!!!!!

-claps hand over mouth-

Robin: ...You found Santiago... In one of those tubes?

Vyvyan: Well, at the time, he was in some sort of grey-ish, unmoving egg... thing inside one of those tubes.

I musta flipped a few switches or something by accident, because then I found out through some glass crashing that he was very much alive. Even though the reports called a project a "failure"

J-Scapes

Jacob: "... Well then." -He brushes off his robes- "Shall we depart?"

Robin: -eyes widen- Th-They were...

Somewhere in Hoenn

-Addie is admiring her and Savannah's collection of badges.-

Addie: So we've both got seven now, huh?

Savannah: Um... y-yes, I think so.

Addie: Want to go to Sootopolis today, then? To get the last one, I mean?

Savannah: Um... well...

Addie: Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Is there anything you wanted to do before then?

Savannah: W-well... there was this o-one place I saw back in Mauville...

-She pauses.-

Er, b-but that's k-kind of out of the way, I think. We don't have to...

Addie: No, c'mon! We're going! You've been keeping me company all this time, the least I can do is let you lead the way for a while, right?

Savannah: Um... Y-yeah, I guess so!

-Addie smiles.-

Addie: Let's go, then!

-And so they go.-

Mauville City, later

-Addie has been battling in the food court while waiting for Savannah to finish up with the thing she wanted to do. She arrives back now and waves.-

Addie: Oh, you're back! How'd it go?

Savannah: It was... fun!

Addie: Still not going to tell me where you went, are you?

-Savannah shakes her head.-

Savannah: N-nope!

-Addie shakes her head back and smiles.-

Addie: Savannah... sometimes you can be so weird.

-Savannah grins nervously and looks at her feet.-

Addie: Er, well, anyway. Look at this.

-She holds out a brochure advertising Mt. Chimney cable car rides.-

Addie: One of the people I met here gave me this. Want to go? Me and my family do this every year, the view's amazing.

Savannah: U-um... well... I don't know...

Addie: C'mon, it'll be fun!

-She grabs Savannah's arm and starts running off. Savannah is left with no choice but to follow along.-

Base of Mt. Chimney

-Addie and Savannah are about to board a cable car. Addie steps on, while Savannah just stands there.-

Addie: C'mon, it'll be great!

Savannah: I don't... I'm...

-Addie tilts her head.-

Receptionist: Ma'am, you're holding us up. Please board the cable car.

-Savannah flinches.-

Savannah: R-right... s-sorry...

-She stiffly steps in and the cable car starts going up. Willard looks at her.-

Willard: <Savannah...>

-She jumps onto Savannah's lap. Savannah hugs her tightly.-

Willard: <It's okay...>

Addie: Savannah... are you alright?

-Savannah is fighting back tears. She shakes her head.-

Addie: Right... guess not. I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were so terrified of heights...

-She looks down.-

Addie: Oh, hey! We didn't visit the desert at all! On Route 111! That's on the ground, nothing to be afraid of there! And a mon I've wanted for a while can be found there, too... You want to go?

Savannah: W-well...

Addie: Right, I'll wait to ask until this is over.

-Savannah nods and hugs Willard more tightly.-

-Savannah and Addie are here now, Addie having talked Savannah into coming along. Addie is looking around for something, while Savannah follows closely behind.-

Addie: You want to split up? Maybe we'd be able to find one quicker that way.

Savannah: I-I'd rather...

Addie: I won't be long, then! Wait here, I'm just going to check over there!

-She runs off, leaving Savannah alone.-

-After a while, Savannah notices something walking behind her. She turns around, screams, and falls to the ground.-

Savannah: Stay away, stay away, stay away stay away, stay away...

-She tries to shuffle away. The thing moves toward her.-

-Addie runs back.-

Addie: Savannah! Are you al—

-She notices the thing Savannah's looking at and beams.-

Addie: Eeee~ A Cacnea, you found one!

-She sends out her Victreebel.-

Addie: Vlerë, let's do this! We're catching that Cacnea!

Vlerë: <Got it, understood.>

Savannah: Please don't, please don't...

Addie: Hm? What was—

-She turns to look at Savannah and realizes she's horrified.-

Addie: You're afraid of a Cacnea?

Savannah: Sh-shut up!

Addie: Wh—

Savannah: D-don't make fun of m-me, just leave me a-alone!

-She runs off as fast as she can, crying again.-

Addie: Savannah, wait! I didn't mean it like—

-She tries to catch up, but Savannah is a surprisingly fast runner and Addie loses her in the sandstorm.-

Lavaridge Town

-After a while running aimlessly, Savannah found her way here, and is now trying to calm herself down in the hot springs.-

Blue runs over to Red, heedless of the gore.

Blue: Red, you alright?

Red: Yeah... yeah. Just, fine.

She slides her back up the wall, wincing, then shakes herself out.

Red: Aight. Where to now?

The black haze lingers... but now, it feels like they are in a much larger space.

Scape

-Joseph breathes in the scent of one of the flowers on his chain in order to feel less nauseated, and looks around-

Joseph: What's going on now...?

Though, Sandy got abducted in the mid 80s by what ended up being cultists, rather than Magma's doing initially. Though it seemed that some splinters were interested in the project and revitalised it.
