Sorry for not being around much today, I've been roped into the "late shift" - we've got a mother dog with a litter of puppies that I need to keep an eye on until my relief arrives in a few hours and I'm without my laptop. I figured I'd type this out on my phone while I'm just middling around.

MC 1: There goes Daigo's Medicham, sweeping low, seeing if Kazunoko's Machamp's got the jumps- OH MY LORD, the Medicham just combo'd a Low Sweep into a Psycho Cut, and at such close range! The Machamp is airborne! THE MACHAMP IS AIRBORNE!

MC 2: That Machamp is getting DESTROYED in the air, oh my god it's got no balance, the Medicham's just juggling it like a bowling pin!

MC 1: Will the Machamp be able to stand up after this assault?! The Medicham can't keep this up forever!

*Slam!*

MC 1: The Machamp's on the ground, and it's still up! Let's see if it can even this match before Daigo can take it down.

MC 2: They're watching their spacing, the Medicham's launching some Psycho Cuts but the Machamp dodges them. They're playing footsies right now...

MC 1: Kazunoko gives a few curt words, and there goes the Machamp in for a Vital Throw!

MC 2: OH NO! The Medicham was not expecting such a ballsy move! Will it be able to recover before the Machamp can take advantage of it's momentum?

MC 1: Wait, wait! There goes a Thunder Punch, and- It paralyzed!

MC 2: The poor Medicham's got no time to recover! It's getting beaten into the ground!

MC 1: The ref's calling it! Kazunoko just tied things up, 1-1, Kazunoko-Daigo!

MC 2: Wow, Daigo was not expecting the Machamp to be able to make that rush after such a beating.

MC 1: I dunno, Kazunoko's best comebacks all came from his off-the-wall training regiments and contingencies.

MC 2: True, but let's see if that's gonna do him any good in this last round of the Capcom Cup Finals - right after these messages!

Beldam: <I'm afraid she decided to betray us, Your Majesty. She's with them. The group we tricked into gathering the Crystal Stars in order to awaken you and provide you with a worthy vessel!>

-The Shadow King looks around, and sees Vivian in the back of the group.-

Shadow King: <Ah, yes. I almost mistook you for just another candle. I suppose it's only natural that my firstborn son would betray me after he gave up the chance to inherit throne to become a girl. Of course, Beldam was always a better choice anyway.>

Vivian: <...>

-Vivian moves in front of everyone.-

Vivian: <...Father... no, Shadow King. I have made up my mind. I'm not abandoning my friends.>

Shadow King: <I see... Then if you have decided you are no son of mine, or daughter of mine for that matter, I cannot stop you from leaving. However... if your so-called "friends" so choose, I suppose I don't necessarily need to kill you. You all can become my faithful servants, and your lives will be spared.>

Vivian: <They wouldn't!>

-She turns toward the rest of the group-

Two flying mons - A Swellow and a Salamence to be exact - dart across the skies towards the meteor mountain. It seems the fellows on their backs are in the middle of a conversation.

Vyvyan: So, after my gig as a sentry at base didn't exactly work out, I got shifted from department to department. Management didn't know what to do with me since I kinda flunked at even at the most basic grunt tasks and came out with a 4th degree burn to show for it. But when this project to drain the Falls came up, they were able to find something to do with me. Even if it was just menial labour.

Vyvyan and Zephyrus land.

Vyvyan: So yeah, that was the start of my career as a Magma grunt.

Vyvyan recalls Zephyrus as he begins walking towards the cave entrance.

Vyvyan: Yeah. New syndicates and revival movements crop up regionally every few years or so. One bit stretch of peace in Unova and something's happening in Kalos. Then once that wraps up, another issue pops up in Kanto and so on.

It's a bit of a swing and a roundabout really, but none of them have ever succeeded in their goals - whatever they may be. Just be a nuisance for a while before disbanding to lick their wounds.

Shadow King: <I see... so you still defy me. How... amusing. Then, you wretched fools... you will learn the error of your ways!>
