The moment he sets eyes on Ibrahiem, Shun's whole demeanour changes entirely. He takes off his hat and holds it in both hands as he bows respectfully.

Shun: It's an honour to meet you in person, sir. Cleo speaks of you very highly.

He looks back up at Cleo and her granduncle, an expression of rosy innocence on his face.

Vincent: <His daughter did tell me her father had been declining both mentally and physically. I honestly felt quite sorry for her...>

-He scoffs-

Hotel, Lilycove

Ibrahiem's expression softens somewhat, while Cleo is a combination of confused, angry and impressed.

Ibrahiem grabs Shun's chin and examines his face, tilting and turning the detective's head left and right as he does so.

Ibrahiem: Are you sure this isn't some child in dress up, my niece?

Cleo reverts back to her previous chipper routine and gives a Noblewoman's Laugh.

Cleo: He is very young Khalu, but I can assure you he is the real deal.

Cleo turns to Shun with a friendly smile.

Cleo: Would you like to inform Khalu more about yourself, shun.

(There's that look of worry again.)

Vincent: <What, exactly, did he do to you?>

Vincent: <S-she never told me any of that! She kept telling me how morally upstanding and devoted he was!>

Shun nods.

Shun: Well, I'm from Sinnoh originally. Jubilife, to be exact. My parents... they died when I was very young, so from there it was just me and my brother. He taught me how to look after myself - that and a few other things, too. We got by, even if it could be rather rough at times.

He looks at Cleo again and gives her a smile of almost taunting sincerity.

Shun: That's all in the past now, though, thanks to your family's kind patronage.

Sootopolis

Crash:<Tch....then she's been feeding you lies. He's a damn tyrant....a crazy one at that.>

Sootopolis

(Vincent is now actually sobbing into his paws.)

Vincent: <She was my friend! I trusted her, and she lied to me!>

Crash:-turns to leave-<I'm sorry...for your bad luck. You'd do best to distance yourself from that church of his as soon as you can.>

(Vincent has become too despondent to even respond anymore.)

Furret: <Yes! Please, please get back the Nitro Honey Syrup safely, before my sticky situation gets any more literal!>

Ibrahiem: Ah, I see.

Ibrahiem adjusts his kufiyah.

Ibrahiem: So you are in debt, then you must be aware that all debts must be paid...

Cleo grabs her Granduncle's attention.

Cleo: Speaking of Khalu, if Shun is to do his job for me - were going to have access to the archives. If you don't mind.

Ibrahiem gives a warm smile to his niece.

Ibrahiem: Of course you can. After all my dear, you are my morning and evening star.

He whispers into her ear.

Ibrahiem: (Keep an eye out for this one. One toe out of line and you know what to do)

Cleo: (Of course Khalu)

Ibrahiem hands his grandniece a key.

Ibrahiem: Here you go Cleo~

Cleo: Thank you uncle~

Ibrahiem: Now run along children, Khalu needs to get back to work. And remember, be snappy!

Cleo: We will Khalu~

Lilycove City, Hotel

Shun bows again.

Shun: Thank you for your time, sir. I will make sure to repay your gratitude with nothing less than the highest standard of services.

He falls in step behind Cleo as Ibrahiem leaves.

Maggie: "Yeah, we'll get looking. And I know where if things don't end up being different..."

-She heads out-

Mossdeep Gym, past

-The Solrock is taken out in short order by the Heavy Slam and Hydro Pump-

-Tate recalls them-

Tate: "It can't be helped. You've won..."

-The pair get out a Mind Badge and Calm Mind TM and offer them to Sol-

Tate: "It's safe to assume you don't..."

Liza: "...need another pair, right, Tagg?"

Cleo enters another elevator and waits for Shun to enter.

Cleo: Okay, where was that earlier?

Sol: Yes!

She puts the badge away and picks up her simian sister.

Sol: You okay?

Michelle: (Giving a weak thumbs up) <No sweat>
