Okay, I know this is random, but something in Bio class caught my eye today. There's a thing that measures blood pressure called a sphygmomanometer. Don't get it? I'l say it again: sphygmomANOMeter. That's all. I'm off to lunch!

Oh, I see.

As for me, I don't have any Pokémon with sweet scent with me. I think Briar Rose knows how to use it, but even I had her with me at the moment, it's been so long since I had her use that attack, so I'm not even sure if she would remember how to use it.

- Has an idea -

Hey, I just thought of something else that might work!

- I look into my backpack, and pull out a small jar of honey -

Back in Sinnoh, I was able to attract certain Pokémon by putting this honey on certain trees. Do you think it's worth a shot?

Treecko are mainly insectivorous, but it's worth a shot.

I glance at DS.

"Hmm...Honey? I guess that could work DS. Give it a try."

As I begin to search in my bag to see if I have any honeypots, Woolly sits down against a nearby tree, tired out from all of the searching. As she relaxes against the trunk, the Ampharos catches a glimpse of bright green in the corner of her eye.

Curious, she turns to have a look, only to find a green, lizard Pokémon os some sort clinging to the branch next to her, staring back at her with large yellow eyes. Woolly blinks, then nearly gasps in shock when she realizes that she's staring at the very Pokémon they were looking for.

Wild Treecko Lv. 7: <Hello.>

The wood gecko Pokémon smiles warmly at Woolly.

<I heard you were looking for a Treecko?>

Surprised, Woolly nods.

Woolly: <Yeah, my trainer wants to capture one to add to his team.>

She points a flipper over at me, still rummaging through my bag for some honey. The Treecko blinks at this, surprised.

Treecko: <...Trainer?> He tilts his head. <What's a trainer?>

Woolly smiles.

Woolly: <A trainer is the name of a human that captures and...well, trains Pokémon to make them stronger.>

The Treecko blinks at Woolly, and interested look on his face.

Treecko: <Stronger? How so?>

Woolly: <Well...when my trainer first caught me, I was just a Mareep who couldn't even use electricity.> Grins at the thought. <But my trainer let me fight and get stronger, and now...now I'm a really powerful Ampharos!>

The Treecko gives Woolly a smirk.

Treecko: <I can tell.>

Woolly: <And not only that, but we get to travel all over the world, too!>

Treecko: <...Really?>

Woolly: <Yep. We're actually from Johto. We're here in Oblivia for a visit.>

Treecko: <...Oh, I see...>

The Grass Pokémon stares at Woolly's trainer, several thoughts racing through his mind. Sure, he was happy here in the forest with his friends and family. But...if what this Ampharos said was true, if he went with this trainer, not only would he get the chance to go out and see the world...but he could get stronger too. Perhaps maybe enough to become a Sceptile one day...

<...It does sound interesting...>

Woolly nods.

Woolly: <Why don't you come, then? My trainer really wants a Treecko. I bet he would take really good care of you.>

The Treecko rubs his chin, pondering the decision.

<That, and...you seem really nice.> Woolly blushes, swinging her tail slowly in happiness. <...I'd quite like to get to know you a bit better.>

The Lizard Pokémon glances at Woolly, smiling awkwardly.

Treecko: <Thanks...>

The two smile at each other for a second. Then to Woolly's surprise, the Treecko hops onto her head, sticking there with his adhesive feet.

Woolly: <Oh! What are you doing?>

Treecko: <I've decided...I'm going to come along with you.>

Woolly: <Really?>

The Treecko smiles.

Treecko: <Yes. But...I'm not going to make it easy for your trainer.>

Woolly: <Eh?>

Woolly looks confused, then slaps her head gently in realization.

<Oh. You want to battle. Of course...>

The Treecko tilts his head at her, slightly confused.

Treecko: <That is how this works, isn't it?>

Woolly: <Yeah, it is. It is...>

-Notices the Treecko, but says nothing-

- Begins putting some honey onto a tree -

Okay, so I'll just put this honey onto this tree here, and then we'll wait and see what happens...

-notices the Treecko-

Treecko: <Mmm...Honey. Hey...Um, what's your name?>

Woolly: <Woolly.>

Treecko: <Cool. Could you scoot over there without anyone noticing so I can have some of that honey?>

Woolly: <Okay, I'll try.>

Treecko: <Awesome, thanks.>

-Woolly tries to inch her way over to the honey.-

I hope this honey doesn't cause another stampede.

-Watches Treecko and Woolly-

Hook, line, and sinker.

Leaving for a while.

What do you mean by that Tagg? I don't see any-

-I finally spot the Treecko as he's using Woolly to reach the honey on the tree.-

-TREECKO!

Treecko: -Stops- <Whoops, time to go! Nice meeting you Woolly!>

-The Treecko leaps off Woolly's head and tries to climb up the tree.-

Woolly! Thunderwave!

-Woolly discharges a weak bolt of electricity at the lizard Pokémon, but he easily dodges it.-

Treecko: <HA! Missed me!>

Try again!

-Woolly fires another bolt of electricity, only for the Treecko to dodge it again.-

Treecko: <Nope! Try again!>

Grr...

Come on Luke, you can catch that thing.

Treecko: <Hey! I'm not a "thing!" I'm a Treecko!>

Thanks for the encouragement Tagg. Come on Woolly! You can get him!

-Woolly fires off several Thunderwaves. but the Treecko quickly dodges all of them with ease.-

Treecko: <Ha! You're too slow!>

-Woolly's expression turns angry, she then starts crackling with a electricity.-

Woolly: <I'm. Not. Slow!>

-The Ampharos quickly fires another Thunderwave. This one hits it's mark.-

Treecko: <...Ouch.>

Treecko: <Thanks for gettin' it right. Wait, how did he understand me?>

-The Treecko tries to get away, but ends up falling off the tree and hitting the floor due to the Paralysis.-

Treecko: <Ouch...This isn't goin' well.>

Nicely done Woolly.

-I pull out a Level ball.-

Woolly: <Good thing you saved some of those!>

I know, right? Here goes nothing!

-I toss the ball at the Treecko.-

Treecko: <...Eep.>

-The ball hits the Pokémon and opens it, absorbing it into it before closing shut.

Funnily enough, the ball shakes once, then clicks shut, indicating a successfully capture.-

...Eh? What happened there? It only shook once!

Woolly: <Ooh, that's never happened before!>

Oh cool, a Critical Capture.

Is that what that was?

Woolly: <Yay! You got a Critical Capture Luke! I'm not sure what they are, but they sound pretty cool!>

Exposition time.

-Stands on a rock-

Some Poke Balls are much more effective than others, so when they're thrown at a Pokemon they can catch them in a much shorter time.

Exposition, exposition! Rush it out ASAP!

Well, I used a level ball because I imagine the difference in strength between Woolly and this Treecko would increase the effectiveness.

-I pick up the Level Ball.-

That must be why it worked so well.
