Herbert: Yeah, I'm awake... every inch of me is in searing pain, but I'm awake. And what do you mean by...

-He looks down at his forearms, which even now are beginning to blister and scar.-

Herbert: ...Ah. Well, I guess it could be worse... it's not like I had any good looks to lose in the first place, right?

Ammy: <Herbert! You're alive!>

-Gets a good look at his face-

Aiura peers into Pugilis's castle window through a perched Natu. ~Hmm... He's planning something... This does not bode well. I'm sorry, dearest, but if you invade Illusio, you will have to find out why we have never been conquered in my reign.~

She sits down. "Lilliana, I need your assistance again." A tall woman clothed in black saunters in, followed by a Chandelure.

"Yes, milady?"

"A battle with Pugilis is imminent. I need to be ever vigilant. I can't afford... emotion in a time so critical. I'm going to need the assistance of Griselbrand over the next few days."

"I understand, milady." She walks away, leaving the Chandelure behind.

Penny decides ICECREAM, and heads for the nearest parlor.

Sylva: -Huggles with Alyssa's head to try making the brainfreeze go away-

-Because to her it sounds like it hurts-

-And to her anything that hurts can be cured with varying amounts of hugs-

<Lissa feel better? Should Sylva hug more?>

Penny walks in, and notices the hugging.

Penny: "D'awwww..."

Pugilis - Around 600 years ago

-Lucanus has gathered several senior Warriors around the map in his war room, and is currently resting both hands on his forhead, eyes closed. Libitina is floating by his shoulder, as usual.-

Lucanus: All I can do at this point is attempt to minimise the impact of our conflict. Let us hope that my plan does just that...

-He sighs and opens his eyes, fixing his Warriors with a hard glare.-

Lucanus: I trust you all understand why I have gathered you here?

Warrior: To plan our invasion of Illusio, correct?

Lucanus: Of course not. A direct assault on Illusio would be suicidal; even the Ghost Lord himself realises that. No, if anything I plan on bypassing Illusio.

-He points to a mountain pass running through Pugilis and Illusio and into Avia.-

Lucanus: Here's the plan. Our Gallade strike teams will port in here, here, and here. They will attempt to neutralise opposing outposts along the route and eliminate Illusio's early warning system, though knowing Aiura she will no doubt be aware of our presence the moment we arrive. Once that is complete, the strike teams will attempt to hold the pass for as long as possible whilst we surge troops into Avia.

-He looks up at the assorted Warriors.-

Lucanus: The goal of the operation is simply to get as many troops into Eastern Ransei as possible. Our position will be almost impossible to hold, so our forces will have to remain on the move almost constantly. Obviously, I will be expecting Warriors bonded with Rotom to lead the vanguard of the assault. If all goes to plan, we will begin this operation tomorrow. Any questions?

-There is silence, though that may simply be because the Warriors are aware that raising objections against Lucanus usually leads to a lot of shouting and someone getting blasted against the wall with an Aura Sphere.-

Lucanus: Good. You are dismissed.

-The Warriors shuffle out of the room, leaving Lucanus alone with Libitina.-

Libitina: <You didn't mention that you'd be leading the strike teams yourself.>

Lucanus: ...I found that information to be entirely superfluous. Hence why I omitted it.

Libitina: <Oh, so it wasn't because you didn't want to admit to the troops that you're afraid of being beaten up by your own girlfriend?>

Lucanus: This conversation is over.

Nimbasa City

Zeal: Actually, I was wondering if you could tell us a bit of what you know about Deimos' history.

Holon City

Nathan: "I really would want to hear something played on a guitar. I love the sound of guitars."

Sophia: <I understand it's part of human recreational culture.>

Nathan: <It is. If we get a chance to play a guitar I'll play something as an example. I used to play a lot.>

O'Sullivan: Deimos? I took the liberty of digging up his record. Real nasty piece of work, but we don't have much concrete information on him. His birth certificate lists him as Orren, though, and we've got plenty of evidence to suggest that he was Cipher before he joined up with Galactic. Problem is, charges against him seem to just slide off like water off a Ducklett. The one time we managed to successfully arrest him ended with someone breaking him out before he even reached the jail. And that Slant guy is either supernaturally good at what he does or very, very rich, because he managed to clear him of almost all charges. Did you want to know anything more specific?

Zeal: Actually, if he's gotten off every time, I doubt it'd be much help... er... Would you be able to give me some files on past cases involving him? What do you know about that Slant guy, by the way?

O'Sullivan The only case he's been involved in was just a couple of months ago, when Dylan Jameson brought him in. He faced charges of terrorism, affiliation with criminal organisations and Pokemon smuggling, and Slant got him off scot-free on all three despite clear evidence incriminating him. I have the files here, if you want to give them a closer look.

-He hands a folder of papers over to Zeal.-

O'Sullivan: As for Slant... the guy's even more of a question mark than Deimos. His credentials are all in order, but aside from the Deimos case I just mentioned I haven't been able to find a single trial he's been involved in. He knows Pokepan law and its respective loopholes inside out, not to mention that he's clearly ancient, but his history's a blank slate. I can't even find a first name on record. Hell, for all I know he could've just appeared out of nowhere one day.

Herbert: Don't suppose you'd mind carrying me for a little while longer? At this point even the breeze is causing me pain...

O'Sullivan: In a way. You and Iridis will still need a police escort if you want to leave the city, but I convinced my superiors to be less fussy about exactly who does the escorting. So long as you've got a badge with you, you can go wherever you like. Within reason and Unova, of course.

Zeal: Understood. Thank you, sir. -turns toward Jacob- So, you want to head to Challenger's Cave now or later?

Jacob: "I think I'll stay here, Zeal. You should go to Challenger's Cave and see what you can get. I'll try to dig up a little more, and if I'm lucky, maybe I'll find Dylan. That'd help me quite a bit. It's your case, do what you need to."
