Just try to guess the meaning before reading the page.

Failed. I though the "pro" stood for "proponent," not "professional." So I thought it was some kind of sci-fi trope.

I was guessing that the clone part was literal, so I fail.

I thought this was Follow the Leader except with porn. I -guess- I was close, but eh.

[up][up]Which I think is covered by Parallel Porn Titles already.

I actually knew about this one before. I don't like it, but I never remembered to make a TRS for it. I'd prefer Generic Pornstar.

There's a trope about making clones of characters and using them to support the porn industry?

I was way off.

I am just wondering if this really worth keeping? The trope desc comes across awefully whiny, like complaining about porn you don't like.

Tanned big breasted blonde women, muscular men? How exactly is are these bodytypes somehow exclusive to the porn industry? Also considering the fact the porn is a world-wide industry, this article not only sounds whinny, it's also comes of as presumptuous as well.

In short: Cut it

But it's true. Most porn actresses look very similar, to the point where it can get really difficult to find good porn if you're not attracted to that one body type.

I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1

Wow, totally different than I was expecting. I was thinking this would be about something in some of The Culture books and the Book Of The New Sun where prostitutes are transformed to look like famous people. The ones in New Sun actually were clones.

Professional porn actors all looking the same?

I was right, but a change to Professional Porn Clones or ISO Standard Porn Star wouldn't hurt.

I thought it was about someone somehow getting a lot of clones of them, and all the clones want to have a huge orgy.

I was disappointed.

I was puzzled. Then I thought Pro War Clones would make sense: clones bred for war. Hence Pro Porn Clones are characters somewhat like Pris from Blade Runner — artifically created folk made for the sex trade, but ... they enjoy their work and don't wrap a stuntman's meaty thighs around Harrison Ford's neck?

Wrong.

ISO Standard Porn Star or Generic Pornstar would be much better.

I must be one of the few who didn't take "clone" literally. I figured it was about "professionals" making porn as opposed to the amateur crap most porn is; maybe the "clone" part could be justified because it's an Adaptation Distillation of an existing porn? Whatever, all I know is that it was hard for me to reconcile the "pro" with the "clone".

But with this definition, the title is definitely a stretch.

I nailed the Guess That Trope, but ISO Standard Pornstar is good.

Real people, by definition, cannot invoke Uncanny Valley if they're not trying or unless they have something wrong with them.

I agree that this needs renaming, and like the suggested ISO standard.

My guess was that it was like a Mockbuster, but with porn. So I'd support a rename.

ISO Standard Porn Star then?

Crown Description:

This article's name is rather unclear as to what it is about. It also appears to be less of a trope and more of a rant in the same vein as the now defunct Cookie Cutter Cuties.
