OH MY GOD YES!!
They even got Machete to come back!! This will be the most awesome movie in years!
To Be Updated when I'm not Lazy... Wait... if he's coming back, then why aren't the Cortezes?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Read this.
Alexa Vega as Carmen Cortez
Daryl Sabara as Juni Cortez
To Be Updated when I'm not Lazy... *pass out*
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987This will be interesting, wonder how they will handle the passing of the torch from the old to the new generation. This fills me with all sorts of odd Nostalgia.

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Hm. If it weren't for the fact that Juni and Carmen will at least have a cameo, I'd say it's going to suck. But, this could be interesting. I loved the original trilogy, so this will likely have some very nostalgic moments for me.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.I'll admit that the first Spy Kids movie was better than I thought it was going to be, but the second one didn't do anything to really catch my interest and the third just flat-out sucked. To me, the trilogy went through a massive nosedive in the 2 years it lasted, and I'm surprised that a fourth installment has been considered so late. I mean, Indy 4 was bad, but at least it was a sequel from a decent movie.
Then again, Robert Rodriguez is a good enough director that he could turn it around. It helps that it looks less like a reboot and more like a change of POV, and that it's getting members of the original cast back.
Only thing: the CGI had better be improved. I remember the Spy Kids films being very CGI-heavy, and the CGI was really bad.
I hope this will be good, because Game Over was terrible.
I didn't even notice the first time Shaloub is coming back!
Sweet!
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyEven if it's just a cameo appearance, I personally would love to see R.A.L.P.H. make a return. He was the only thing that really made me enjoy parts of Spy Kids 2 and 3.
And I'm also totally stoked that Tony Shalhoub will be in this picture too .

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Honestly, I liked Spy Kids 3 for seeing Ricardo Montalban walk again.
The problem with Spy Kids was that after the first film, the focus shifted from "Hey, let's make a new, interesting kid's film" to "Let's see how much we can abuse greenscreen to cut costs!".
The problem I had with the second and third film was that they were lacking in emotional depth as the first one. They were action Spy films for kids, which does make for a fun premise, but you're right in saying it was mainly about the gadgets than family connectivity.

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I might go see this just for the snark factor (I showed Game Over to my friends at a bad movie party), who knows, it might turn out good.
I take it these◊ are Alexa and Daryl in the back there? If they're in promotional images, their appearances will probably be more than cameos. Truth be told, I thought Daryl may have gotten fat and hairy or something post-3D and that's why I haven't seen him since. Apparently he's headlining Generator Rex now. Who knew?
I wonder if they'll bring him◊ back. He cold illustrate the encyclopedia under "child molester."
On that note, I wonder if they'll bring her◊ back. She was, IIRC, the best thing about the third movie, and she had kind of a sucky sendoff.
Also, are you really Steve Buscemi?

No, I am not.
Daryl Sabara was also in Machete and World's Greatest Dad. And he's playing Edgar Rice Burroughs in John Carter of Mars.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Huh, Jeff Winger and Ricky Gervais are in this...Spy Kids 3 was still terrible but I'm a little bit more interested now.

If Floop isn't a Memetic Molester yet, he should be. I mean, look at him◊. And the actor's last name is Cumming. AND he played the Emcee! He was my favorite character back when I was an impressionable sprogget who loved these movies, but now he just seems... off.
As pessimistic as I am about this movie, Joel Mchale and Rickey Gervais make me want to see it. Though I know it'll be awful.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Actually (and I'm just talking to myself here, with no idea why I'm posting this), now that I think about it, the Toymaker fits Memetic Molester better than Floop does. Here's a late 50s-early 60s man who, using computers, actually creates the persona of an eleven-year-old girl to lead eleven-year-old boys to him. Isn't there a point where she starts talking with his voice? I wouldn't be surprised if that was the intentional Aesop, actually.
Are they seriously bringing back a failed gimmick and hope it works this time?
It's most likely a scratch and sniff card. This gets attempted every once in a while for the kitsch value (John Waters did it for Polyester and Nickelodeon did it on Rugrats Go Wild).
The actual concept of the original Smell-O-Vision is actually done in Asia and has worked well on a few movies (such as The New World and Avatar).

So the fourth film is currently in production by Disney[1]. It will feature an all new dysfunctional family with new kids and a mom that's a retired spy. And it's main villain is some kind of Time Lord.
If this synopsis was made for anything other than Spy Kids and Robert Rodriguez I'd say this was the dumbest idea for a sequel. Instead it's So Cool Its Awesome.
