Yes.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I still support this, but last time it was brought up Word of Eddie said no.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Really? Have this EVER been used correctly? Once?
Well, I had the idea then that we were running a fan jargon glossary, and that is fan jargon. It seems that is less important than being clear about what is a trope and what is not, so I'll relent on that. As long as it sticks around as a redirect.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOh, is that what you where worried about? It's fine as a redirect, as long as we fix the misuse.
Technically it's not even a trope. It's a pure troper tale thing. It shouldn't even BE in YMMV, let alone on a main page, because this is entirely based on personal experience: Person X doesn't want to watch a show coz they think it's going to be cancelled. The page itself says not to list examples (go to TT for that(, and honestly, this should never be linked to outside TT.
But like Eddie said, it is a fan speak term that should stay. I am not sure if we should keep it in YMMV or not.
No, I mean, the page should stay for sure, but this shouldn't get potholed outside of tropertales, even in YMMV, coz it describes a purely personal experience
Heck, it's not even an audience reaction trope, because it involves why your not watching the show. It's a Non-Audience Reaction Trope!

If so, maybe a rename is unneeded. Also, did Fast Eddie really make Fox Cancels Everything?

No, that was made by some troper. Got cut pretty f*ing fast too
Here is proof. Also, I cut it.
Hrrm. Weird. Eitherway, I stand by my point, this should not be used outside of Troper Tales
If so, then we just need to kill the links. No rename required.
You can prolly keep them if they are used as "Relate to" or to cross-reference other terms, but otherwise, yah, pretty much, move them to TT when you see them?
Actually, I need to spend more time cutting So Bad It's Horrible links. But if I come across one, sure.
Firefly Effect? Why is it named so?
Actually, I think the actual underlying trope works. But I think it should be renamed something like Waiting For The Trade or Waiting For The DVD (the former just to snowclone Writing for the Trade), since the effect is that fans won't commit to a new series until they know it's stable...which ruins its stability. For comic books, they'd wait for the first trade, which turns out to be the only trade the series gets.
Waiting For The DVD would be a good name. That would be more neutral, anyhow.

Guess what this means without reading it. Most think that it is Complaining About Shows You Like Getting Screwed By The Network. What it is is when because of Firefly getting canceled, people are afraid to commit themselves to a new show fearing that it will be canceled beacuse of how popular FireFly
wasis. Fox Cancels Everything used to be a redirect for crying out loud! Should we rename?edited 4th Feb '11 6:39:47 PM by nuclearneo577
