This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Miles should be like 16. Gwen has a Vague Age though, she's in college and her dad was ragging on her to pick a major.
Miles was 12 when he started then a 2 year time skip after his mom died, then 8 months, and 8 more months. so 15-16 yeah
For what it's worth, I'm thoroughly convinced it's a fakeout cover.
I do find it funny though there are people appalled at the apparent age gap but a lot of the same people wanted to ship Spider-Gwen with Peter, and those two have like a 10+ year age gap.
If I groan and roll my eyes, it is sexist/racist?
My various fanfics.Depends if you accuse the cover of pandering to them SJ Dubyas.
Oh, no. It just comes across as creatively bereft.
My various fanfics.Triggered! ;P

Mileena MadnessI actually think the age gap between Miles and Gwen is worse because one of them should be above age and the other... not.
Age gaps become less noticeable the older couples get. And I don't actually think Peter necessarily has the bigger age gap, depending on where in the vague age range everyone lies. How old is Peter?
Peter is like 28-29.
I'm still banking on Bendis just trolling with that cover.
Who's Mattie Franklin?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Jameson's niece. She was a Spider-Woman in the 90's. Slott ended up fridging her during the Grim Hunt storyline.
Imagine a Gwen/Miles kid becoming a Spider-Person.
Mileena MadnessI think that Slott had very little involvement with Grim Hunt. That was mostly Waid/Kelly/Van Lente.
Yeah, they said the other Spider-Books would be tying into Dead No More/Clone Conspiracy, so Mattie coming back fits the bill. Web Warriors is also supposed to tie in (maybe Mayday's dad comes back?)
Joe Kelly wrote the issue where Mattie was killed off. Slott wasn't involved in Grim Hunt, unless you count The Gauntlet as part of it (he did the Mysterio story).
It was really Marvel editorial that killed her to make way for Quesada's pet character Anya Corazon as Spider-Girl(who is a derivative of Matte). Who's series ironically flopped harder than Mattie's and has been kicked out of the 616 to make way for Cindy. Talk about karma.
But yeah, Grim Hunt was Quesada's idea according to an IGN interview and apparently the purpose of that story was to cut down on Spider-women. Which is pretty sexist considering there were four Spider-men(Peter, Kaine, Flash, and Ricochet) at the time. After Quesada left as EIC, editors and writers barely gave a crap about Anya.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Silk #13. Mattie and Cindy have many parallels. A Spider-woman with an attraction to Peter, Jessica Drew as a mentor, and a relationship with Jameson. Cindy is successful version of Mattie and you can use that to create the perfect foil.
Several months ago requested the writer of Silk on twitter to mention Mattie. Though the recent reprint of Alias and is what inspired Silk #13.

Civil War 2 Spider-Man tie-in continues to be really good. Clayton's grief over his past is subtle and cool. Even his parents are realistically abusive about it(though really Parker could have helped him move out). This is the second time they drew an image of Green Goblin behind Harry, hmm... are they hyping him up? That'd be awesome.
"#Gage The Slott" should be a hashtag or something. Gage should take over Spider-Man instead of Slott.

Disappointed with Silk 13 Cindy really didn't get anywhere with Felicia even with begging her she will testify for her court trial. At least Felicia gets teleportation powers right?
Mileena MadnessRead the Renew Your Vows book. Dunno what crossover crisis clusterfuck that was a part of but
It's nice to see a Parker family. Was there one with Gwen that wasn't House of M if that even still exists?
Mattie's death was super-lame. Killed to revive a dull '90s Xtreem villain who was himself almost immediately re-killed.
@Mizerous so what happens with Felicia now? and teleportation?
She continues to be a supervillain crime boss. That's pretty much it. Probably unless and until Slott either decides to change her or leaves ASM.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. You know, with all the bad guys getting their own books (Thanos, Kingpin, Bullseye), I wonder if Black Cat will ever get her own book? That would be interesting.
Not the way she's currently written right now.
There's been so many time skips and shit that I'm unsure how old anyone is now.
