...What?
I love One Piece and all, but that is a terrible image to use for this.
Standard seems to be I Love Lucy (The middle might be more Zany Scheme Chicken)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
I don't get the second panel, does it need context? On the other hand, the first panel alone could work perfectly. Add some snarky comment as caption.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. That lampshades this but really this trope is about the plan being really crazy but says nothing about anyone actually getting into trouble.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I think I Love Lucy is the go-to here. I love the fish image, but it probably is best for Zany Scheme Chicken, which does need an image.
The other two don't necessarily say "scheme" by themselves, so much as "Lucy just got a weird job." But Lucy on a ledge in an ersatz Superman costume with a pigeon on her head◊ could only be the result of a Wacky Scheme (ah, that's not the trope name, probably need that as a redirect.)

Jet-a-Reeno!Lucy with the pigeons would work. Caption something like "There was a plan behind this..."
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.As usual, Tom Siddell provides
...And even I make no pretense Of having more than common sense - R.W.WoodI see what the comic is getting at, but I don't think it qualifies as nearly "zany" enough to count. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the suggested pics really count...for the Lucy examples, I think we'd need to see a three- or four-panel pic showing the various ways the scheme gets out of control to make the zaniness really evident. One panel just doesn't quite cut it.
We could use a couple panels from this Cat And Girl comic.
That might work if you can get it to fit, and be legible. I also like the Licy superman one. It looks werid enough to tbe result of one.
Bump.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Clock is ticking.
Clock's up; locking for inactivty/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
Can we get an image of like something outlining their Zany Scheme or in the middle of it instead of just announcing "I Have A Plan"?
