[up]... Edit: I just realized why Ross used Half-Life: Uplink. He wanted Freeman to theorize why the friendly fire was happening, and there wasn't anymore H.E.C.U. in the main Half-Life

I wonder if he'll finish before the year is over.

[up]In the comments in the video he said he's taking all bets on that. He said he'll double your money if he doesn't make it. Just have to leave it in his paypal and mention it's a bet.

I think ross is intentionaly creating this loop of he's not gonna make it->He's gonna make it->He's not gonna make it.

It seems according to posts in the Accursed Farms forums, Ross is really pulling all the stops to try to make sure nothing gets in his way of finishing Freeman's Mind this year. My memory is a little fuzzy on Xen, but isn't that factory next or something?

Yeah I believe it is. He's definitely getting close.

I'm curious to see how he takes out the Nihilanth. I just replayed Half-Life and man did I have one doozy of a time.

Is not impressed.

I've never played Half-Life and I'm seriously curious now what the hell is this final boss you all are talking about. Well this should be a pleasant surprise. [lol]

The question remains: Will Freeman's Mind continue into Half-Life 2?

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!

I feel that Gordon telling G-Man to go fuck himself and charges at the Grunts would be in character for him.

It would be in character, but at the same time ruin any chances for a sequel in HL 2 or anything else.

But I'm pretty sure Ross is exhausted with Freeman's Mind and may want something else.

But let's just hope that we don't get a morbid ending, like how "Arby n' the Chief" ended. I shed a single tear at the end.

Hey, it could work both way.

Gordon charges at the Grunts...and then shanghai'd by G-Man, despite his protest, because he finds Gordon...hilarious. tongue

I have serious doubts that we'll see Scott's interpretation of Freeman explore City 17. Still, my money's on Freeman Across The Universe, if only because I think it'd be more hilariously awesome. I know it was a joke, but a man can dream.

Regardless, I am eager to see how it all ends.

Is not impressed.

Good to see Gordon doesn't kill every alien he comes across. That's going to be important later.

Well Ross has said before that he thinks writing jokes in Half-Life 2 would be easier, so I guess the possibility of a Freeman's Mind 2 isn't off the table.

Well Ross Scott on the AF forums today posted that he would be doing an announcement video in early January, and that "The short version is while FM is kind of up in the air..."

Of course, I have no idea if he means "It's up in the air because I want to be done with it" or "It's up in the air because I've been working nearly non stop on FM and might be taking a long break before I continue it".

It's also worthwhile mentioning that on the forums, back when he did the fundraiser to make FM HD, he promised to do FM 2 if he eclipsed 12k in donations, which he did. That was back in March though and that promise was not actually listed as one of the goals on the fundraiser page.

"I'm intentionally keeping it open as I still haven't decided. It's more like I have 50 things I want to do, but only time for a couple. I promise to get to the end of HL regardless however. I may do it this year anyway, but I PROMISE to do it if I hit 12k."

Still though, Ross deserves a break from working on FM for all these years. Maybe Civil Protection can make a return if FM 2 is out of the picture.

As much as I love Freeman's Mind, Ross does deserve a break when he's done with HL 1. I think he said somewhere that Civil Protection was harder to make with the tools he had available- could SFM make it easier?
