I really hope the series branches out the way it's promising it will, with more characters and events - them planning to basically hold a Cell game is extremely fitting, given that Mecha Sonic is basically Cell with badassery less based on charisma as much as taciturn rage.
Also, I thought it was a nice touch that Mecha Sonic is Metal Sonic upgraded. I've always preferred Metal Sonic to any of the other expies.
I wonder if DK will appear, or Daisy, or if Wario and Waluigi will become actual threats or not.

It's kind of disappointing that Tails and co will never appear in any form whatsoever at any point in the series, which is apparently supposed to keep going on after Mecha Sonic is defeated.

I like how this series makes Luigi quirky and goofy, but how when the two brothers team up they're all sorts of badass, but I hope he doesn't get flanderized into a ineffectual joke.
