What really depresses me is that they keep saying a Wicked movie based off the musical is coming and that some of the orignal cast signed up and...

Yeah I don't want to rant right now.

A miniseries is the best way to faithfully adapt any book. I don't know why everyone is so upset. Especially as the biggest flaw of the book is all the gratuitous sex, and it wasn't picked up by HBO or Showtime.

I've been meaning to read the book (as soon as I find Dad's copy, I'll get to it.) and I loved the musical, but this is doomed. There are so many red flags, I don't know where to start. It's rare that TV series based on books are any good.

Not as rare as it is with movies, proportionally speaking.

The book is only good if you like political stuff. Most of the people I know found it pretty boring, but YMMV I guess.

The Stand and A Game Of Thrones were good adaptations of the respective Book Stopper's. I have no hopes for this, though. Why not base it off the musical? Then we could have Dancing Through Life and Defying Gravity and For Good and sad

musical in tv/film has to be trippy
i dont particularly remember wicked being very trippy

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?

Musical in film isn't necessarily trippy. You just have to treat the singing as normal... you know, just like in a stage show.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

It had better have good casting or other wise... Blegh. Their current fairy-tale-ish thing has terrible casting.
