Oooooh. Never mind. But yeah, still, probably. I mean, I don't know much about the mythological Morpheus, but if you say that he has dominion over the realm of dreaming, that would be fine.

I did know about the Sandman Morpheus and was expecting him to be mentioned I'd help but I have less knowledge about Nobilis than Chuubo.
Nah, I think I have something of a handle on it.
I'm probably going to give him more CP than usual, and call him either Imperator level or just a character used or a really long time. I mean, I was thinking of his stats, and it felt like he had more than the usual 25 between his Persona, Domain, and Treasure.

@Endless affiliations: At Noble level, I'd put Destruction as Wild, given the way he decides his job is bullshit and wanders off to do his own thing. I don't think Destiny would even have an affiliation, since his basic schtick is that he doesn't make choices.
Fair enough. Though Aaron's Serpents don't do much besides keeping things up.
I'm not sure if I'd consider them Imperators or not.

Serpents are the Imperators for people who don't want to have Imperators.
Well, if I were to brainstorm ideas for statting Dream in Chuubilis...
- I'd bet he'd have some Creature of Fable (since he is an incarnation of stories, myths and such).
- High Domain / Spiritual, with the Estate being Dreams, naturally.
- Definitely some Keeper of Gardens, since he's always tended to his realms (although it's probably low, 1-2).
- Probably some Persona and Treasure, although not too high either.
- Last but certainly not least, Jenna has suggested that of the leftover miraculous Arcs (the ones not yet made), Immortal Knight would fit Dream well. I think I sort of see what she means; Dream has always been one for responsibilities, to maintain his role above all else, while remaining a high and powerful figure of his world, an Immortal. I'm not quite sure what abilities said Arc would have, but the comparisons to the Traveler in Black, Spectre and the Guardians of Oa give me a vague image of it might involve, and it seems quite nice.
I can agree with this sentiment.

I've gotten about halfway through The Fable of the Swan. It's pretty interesting so far. My brain is still kind of a goopy mess, but that explanation of the world's creation from the void is so up my alley. The descriptions of her emotional state and her (I know I'm using this word incorrectly, but I can't think of a better one) depersonalization is interesting and relateable, besides the, you know, heart pulling magicks and stuff. It's disorganized, in the way her books kind of are, but it strikes me in a weird way, because it's so much more grounded than her Hitherby novels, and I'm not sure if that makes it a more or less interesting to read experience. Disorganization is to be expected from stores that involve space nannies and scissor rains, so it stands out less. That said, it hasn't hampered my ability to get immersed in this story. It weaves together, ultimately, even if it's disorganized, the way her books seem to be.
I think the disorganized nature of the story works in its favor - I think its structure is similar to Jack o'Lantern Girl, in a sense. Both of them (heavy spoilers) start with a key scene out of context, which is meant to be the most important part in the story. As the story continues to build up on itself, we finally come back to that scene, and its true meaning becomes clear, giving the story a satisfying reaffirmation of its messages or themes (if not the actual story).
Yeah, definitely. The book is kind of like if you asked Jenna Moran to write a high school YA novel.
Edit: Psh, oh, duh! I can't believe it took me until now just to figure out why Jasmine Apocynum didn't have a name!
Edit 2: ALMOST DONE WITH THE BOOK AND WOW NATALIA IS AWESOME.
Edit 3: DONE WITH THIS BOOK THIS BOOK IS AWESOME.

Oh, by the way, I finally set up my group's character sheets for Nobilis. Also, I think I might've somehow gotten my Chemistry teacher to buy it?
Any suggestions on how to run it? My current plan is to drop them into a small one-shot thing and let them fuck around with it for a bit, probably using that basic idea of a Estate contest. That might actually be a horrible idea, really.

Salute! Apocynum!
Natalia's really awesome, isn't she?
IIRC, her sequences inspired minor in-jokes in the community about Russia not being a real place, haha. Poor Natalia.
Probably a one-shot, beginning with all the PCs being new Nobles, so you can excuse them not knowing much about the setting, or being unfamiliar with their powers. I'd suggest preparing multiple NPCs and such, but not much in the way of plot. Nobilis rather assumes that the players should be proactive about their own things.
Natalia is fantastic. Motherfucker punched out Death. I hope there'll be more novels set in the Chuubo's universe, using its characters. I like how all the characters are presented in the game book, but I'd like to see them fleshed out in novels and stuff. I'd so buy a Lillimund Cartaign book.
And thanks for the advice! My group is usually pretty proactive, so I think that'll work out.
EDIT: And cool, my teacher seems to like it a lot so far.

Quick, can someone sum up Sheperd Arc and their tying powers to Treasures with Connetions thing for someone who doesn't know Chuubo?
Um, Sentimental? Basically, something is a Treasure if you are connected to it by an Accessory Perk, Bond, or Level 3+ Connection. Sentimental characters can work miracles through their Treasures, and inhabit/possess/control them, and can use Miraculous Will through them.
Okay, and what they hav in mind is also similar to that Arc (Primordial or Cot A?) that was based on other people's perception of you. How'd you explain that to them?
Primordial? You gain skills and minor powers aimed at either emulating someone you've talked to, or their perception of the mystic force you represent - talking to the Prodigy, who is cold, possibly-KGB-trained, and believes Hope Is Scary, can give the hope-tied Child of the Sun temporary access to ice sculpting, firearms training, or the ability to fire fear beams.
Thanks. I hope she'll find these useful :3
Jenna made a post on how she's advanced some of that Displaced arc that she mentioned a while back. Found it rather interesting.
That's pretty neat! It's cool how to see her process.
Hey, I've had a terrible idea. Let's build a Deceiver using the lifepath system! Anyone up for this?
Lifepath?
In Nobilis, you create characters by running through a series of lifepath questions - choosing two Keys to define a character, and then answering some questions about what you're doing and why.
Oh. Sounds cool. But I don't have any material to help you :< You'd have to help me help you :<
For the record: *has not read Sandman and was refering to the mythological Morpheus*
