"The game mocks you for playing easy mode."
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Image pulled.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Why.
"And the Lord said unto John; Come forth and receive eternal life. But John came fifth and won a toaster."It wasn't from any game.
I have a message from another time...It was pretty weak. And illegible. And it doesn't show the trope.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Blargh. Tried to use the exmple from Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, but one of the possible dialogues says nothing mocking, and the other one isn't clearly talking about difficulty levels.
I have a message from another time...Isn't it common for the "easy" difficulty on first person shooter games to be called something silly? Game select screen with hard medium and pansy, maybe.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Doesn't look like a difficulty screen, though. Could be a funny questionnaire.
I have a message from another time...I just had a memory spike. Can someone screen cap the description of easy mode for Halo 3? It says something about the game almost plays its self.Funny.

The Pope's suggestion is pretty good.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdAgreed. the pic doesn't work. (I don't have any ideas though.)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!There's SA's easy description (A difficulty level that will put you to sleep. Keep practicing so people don't make fun of you). It's perfectly legible at the scale we use, but, sadly, pure text
I like ROTT's difficulty selection screen, myself. Any good shots of it though? Hmm... "Which part is the trigger?" Or "I'm in my element (lead). (I particularly like the "chew toy" one, but I can't seem to find a shot of that.)

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.This◊ is what Hylarn was suggesting. We could crop it or something, but I think the Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels which are not Easy-Mode Mockery might be distracting here. It says "Easy" underneath everything else but it might be hard to see.

Another title screen suggestion.◊

That should work.
@Clarste: Oh, so that's what it's called.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Wow, Jazz Jackrabbit. It's been a while.
Best suggestion so far.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Bird^^^^That would do nicely. Visual depiction of the deprecation, no distractions from the other levels.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyActually, looking at both the Easy-Mode Mockery and Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels pages, it seems to me that the difficulty select screen mocking you is not an example of Easy-Mode Mockery. Easy-Mode Mockery requires actual gameplay changes, such as removing content or changing dialog.
Ah. Well, then. How about a shot from I Wanna Be The Guy where the kid has the bow in his hair?

I was thinking that too. That would be good.
Of course, having just a screenshot runs into the "how does the viewer know this is Easy mode?" question.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Bird
This is a wall of very small text.
Maybe get a picture of something from an actual game rather than fan art?
