It has a niche in being the one attack Stone has that doesn't require movement. It's not perfect but it means you can get a wallop or two in before the usual Stone antics.
I sure said that!Got 'em.

and I have now 100%ed the game.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHow do you even unlock true arena? I beat regular arena once already.
I think you need to beat "Meta Knightmare Returns." Try that and see if the True Arena unlocks.
Oh. Generally he's not as fun as Kirby but okay.
Yeah.
The True Arena is all the stronger versions of bosses you face in Meta Knightmare Returns, along with some bosses exclusive to that mode and one boss exclusive to the True Arena itself.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I feel like they did pretty well differentiating Meta Knight from Sword Kirby in this game. (also Meta Quick is the bomb diggity)
But yeah, the True Arena is unlocked just like it was in Triple Deluxe- Beat The Arena and the speedrun mode staring a character besides Kirby.
Dedede Tour was kinda great at first, but it really needed the extra effects Meta Knight got in Meta Knightmare Deluxe and continued to get in Returns.

I sure said that!Agh! Died to the fatal error attack in the True Arena final boss's third phase! Thought the invincibility frames from rolling would save me!

You gotta finish 'em off before that happens! Make good use of the Planet Buster cannon. You can usually get a full charge just from destroying the junk it summons.
So what abilities would you like to see return in a future game? I'd like it if Light and Paint got the same treatment as Magic, revamped into a full moveset instead of a one-off attack/utility.
Not sure how to differentiate Light from Beam or Laser, but the "hat" could totally be the sunglasses the Light-giving enemies wear. For Paint, there's a lot of Art Initiates Life stuff you could draw parallels to Ado and Adeleine with, or have puzzles that can be solved by painting things a specific color.
Bubble from Squeak Squad could probably be rolled into Water, to help differentiate the latter from Poison.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Light being based on projectiles that burst after traveling a set distance could be pretty interesting.
I'd really like it if Needle was revamped into something useful, too- Maybe work in some of the effects from Kirby 64's Needle combos.
I sure said that!I've finally gotten the game today for my birthday! And I'm loving it! ^_^ Made it to Gigabyte Grounds! I'm trying to get as far as I can into the main story today.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I'll never say 'no' to underdog abilities getting new toys, but I thought Needle was sufficiently powerful in RTDL. I had an easier time clearing the True Arena with it than I did Fire, Beam, Cutter, Whip, or Sword, that's for sure.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I want mirror to appear in more games for sure. Bubble would be amazing to have again, though that was certainly an ability meant for the Squeak Squad gimmicks.
Metal Kirby was neat, too.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI kinda hated Metal, since it was Kirby 64's mobile Stone but it couldn't be turned off.
An ability based on ol' Benkei would be kinda nifty- Just use a different crazy weapon for every attack.

I sure said that!Maybe a Cannon ability. Get it from edible versions of Shotzo, hold B to fire in any of eight directions, charge up big shots if you hold it long enough, and maybe have its dash attack be the Missile attack from Amazing Mirror? I won't pass up an opportunity to rework old abilities that are unlikely to return on their own into new ones.
Though I don't see Metal returning in any form. Or Cupid, now that Archer's taken its niche.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yes! I beat the True Arena with a slither of health left!
Now beat it with no ability!
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm not crazy.
I haven't done it yet myself, but I think I could. It helps that the final boss of it produces a LOT of crap you can spit back at it.
The real final battle will be against Galacta Knight.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Spat stars are so powerful that I'd argue stuff like Circus and Ice are harder to beat The (True) Arena with than going Dreamland 1 on it.
I sure said that!Well, Ice maybe not anymore now that it has its ice ball attack from RTDL back.
It sucked ass in Triple Deluxe and every game prior to RTDL, though, yeah. Even with the ice ball it could use a good buff, but I wouldn't put it on Circus's tier.
Circus is still bad and has yet to ever NOT be bad. Not sure why they brought that back over Spear, Water, Beetle, or Bell.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! No kidding- In particular, I thought for sure Spear was going to be here to stay after Bandanna Dee was given it in RTDL.
I sure said that!
Down-Stone is better than Stone uppercut...it hits multiple time while spinning before stoning the enemy.
