I'd suggest something with the word "distilling".
Fight smart, not fair.I agree that Make a Better World seems to be commonly used for the Stock Phrase rather than for anything about alternate universes (the Code Geass uses of the trope for example). I made a single proposition rename crowner here for that reason.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dVotes were to rename. Crowner had stabilized. Swapping for Alternate Titles crowner.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickShould we discuss possibilities before throwing options onto the crowner? I'd hate to see an early-but-misleading option take over by default. How about Blending The Timelines? Mix And Match Realities? (Note, both options listed to be shot down, not necessarily as serious candidates.)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Merged Reality seems a little broad, and doesn't quite cover the purposefulness of this, to my mind. But maybe that's just me?

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Bump. Needs more votes.
There has been a request to call the crowner, clocking
The description also includes plain old time travel, how does that fit under "merged reality?"
This crowner has been going since July; calling time?
Calling.
Make a Better World and Parallel Universe Merge are now redirects for Merged Reality, there are notes about the rename on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread, and I sent a report to move the archived discussion page. The wicks should be fixed save for one on a locked page (Übermensch), but there seemed to be a great deal of misuse for "character(s) work to make the world a better place." I tried to edit out those examples, but I may have missed some, so feel free to check my work here.
I snipped the part of the description about time travel, it seemed to be encouraging misuse for Set Right What Once Was Wrong.

Crown Description:
You can give Guess That Trope a shot.
Yeah, this is a pretty common phrase that ends up being used instead as some sort of pun according to the description. Of note, a trope related to the common meaning, Übermensch, uses Make a Better World in its description, and not in the way intended.
To be honest, I'm not sure what would be a good name for the current description, but the common meaning of Make a Better World is a pretty fair trope on its own, the goal of many idealistic characters and of course, the aforementioned Übermensch.
