New SDB. Ruby gets embarrassed. That's unusual.
= Spindriver =New Sandra. Pierre blushes cutely.
New Ma3. Kiley is in the zone, and discovers the perils of transference.
= Spindriver =Transference? What's that?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It's a term in psychology about people transferring their feelings from previous situations, relationships, people, etc. onto new people, even if the situation isn't appropriate for those feelings. (Usually these are feelings from early in life, and may be getting transferred because the person has certain hangups about that relationship or if it was dysfunctional and incomplete somehow.) For example, patients with issues about absent parents coming to treat authority figures in their lives such as teachers or bosses or their therapists as parental figures, (that last one is apparently quite common) a man who treats every woman he meets like his older sister who he looked up to but died when he was young, etc.
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Specifically, Freudian analysts are supposed to have to worry about patients redirecting their feelings towards the analyst.
= Spindriver =OK, but from who is Didi transferring her feelings to Kiley here, then?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Probably the countless boyfriends she never really felt anything for.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Yeah, more or less. DiDi has a lot of poorly-focussed sexual energy, and Kiley just attracted the searchlight beam.
= Spindriver =New Sandra... Our heroine forgets that the sheet is about three feet from where she's standing.
New SDB. Our heroine remembers that she has a brain. Unlike some people.
= Spindriver =@new SOTR: Do remember that until the mother and her daughter came in, the sheet was stuck in the door.
@new SDB: ... Wait, now you bother telling us that those 27 guys lied to you by claiming they were single when you stole them from their girlfriends?! No, nevermind that for now; exactly what does Ruby mean by "know more about being gay than a gay man"? Isn't it the other way around in the latter two scenes?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Re. Sandra: Yes, the sheet is stuck in the door jamb. That means that Sandra could reach down, give it a yank to see if it comes free, and then, if that fails, try shifting the door a bit until it comes free. It might take a moment, but the sheet is still there, closer to hand than anything Pierre can find.
Re. Ruby: She's smelled a huge rat in Dillon's story that Dillon was too stupid to notice. He thinks that he found twenty-seven genuinely straight men who all fell for his charms, and who all somehow neglected to mention that they had girlfriends until after their nights of passion. But it's far more likely that they were either bisexuals in paper-thin denial, or gay or bi men pulling a cute seduction strategy. Or maybe some of them woke up the next morning, looked at Dillon, and came up with the first plausible story that allowed them to avoid an actual relationship with this himbo.
And even Ruby can see that. In other words, she may have to break it to Dillon that he hasn't managed to pull off twenty-seven seductions, he's been scammed twenty-seven times.
= Spindriver =Ah, so she's hanging a lampshade on what would IRL be called a Contrived Coincidence that is too high on the "Contrived" part to be plausible without first-hand experience/knowledge. Works for me.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Gotta admit, today's SOTR hit the "...wait, what?!" button for precisely the same reason cited - it would've been a whole lot easier for Sandra to open the door enough to grab the sheet, although it wouldn't have been comedic. The only way it holds together is if this strip is meant to be happening seconds after the conclusion of the previous strip, with Sandra only having enough time to grab her buns before the woman and girl walk in, given how Pierre's reaction ties into the last panel of the previous.
It'd all be a bit contrived either way, but the version that depends on Dillon being dumb twenty-seven times over seems strangely more plausible than the version that depends on twenty-seven different guys all acting in exactly the same arbitrary way.
The artist says that Sandra didn't bend over to recover the sheet because that would have meant turning round and bending over in front of Pierre... Or to put it another way, she's panicking, and the idea of crouching down hasn't occurred to her.
= Spindriver =Oh, and the new Ma3 is up, and is NSFW in the final panel if not sooner. Anyway, beware the Hypno-Boobs.
= Spindriver =Watch as Kiley finds herself falling for Didi for real afterwards for whatever reason.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.New Ma3, totally NSFW. Also features a radical, earth-shattering revelation.
( Matt's full name.)
= Spindriver =About time that one misunderstanding was cleared up.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Anyone else notice the implication that they've done it eleven times in one night?
Some men are capable of that. IIRC the refraction period for male humans is not that long.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Plot-Powered Stamina. Sex comedy division.
= Spindriver =Awkward, but since she was looking to have sex with someone that's good at it, I'd call it "mission accomplished" either way.
Argument over who mistook identity? But I'd definitely say this is won't be good for Matt.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThere may be a few weird remarks on both sides in the next few minutes. But honestly, they both got what they came for, more or less. Worst case for Matt: Peggy says "Don't worry, you were just as good as I'm told Gary is".
= Spindriver =
I think that part of the point here is that, whatever a man is normally capable of, DiDi will rapidly exhaust him. It's not a joke about men, it's a joke about DiDi.
And I doubt that her problem is meant to be anything as simple as "never lets a man make a second attempt". I suspect it's more "is incapable of true intimacy or of releasing her inhibitions". But we'll have to see what Kiley digs out; she's doing okay so far.
