Would anyone care for a Total War/Mount And Blade visual novel?

I've always said that the day Creative Assembly, Paradox Interactive, Taleworlds and Key Visual Arts stand together to create a political-simulating visual novel that covers the entire historical period from the fall of the last King of Rome until the fall of the Basileia ton Rhomaion i.e Byzantine Empire about two millenia later, I would die a happy man.

Question for discussion: If such a game would ever be made, would you play it?

I APPROVE.

Although frankly, you'd have to be pretty freakin' incompetent to not have wrapped up Europe by the time the Huns rock into town.

Unless we put in Asia as well...

Storm and trouble won't make you make you lose your way. (Tits might, though.)

It'd probably be kind of boring. I'd rather not read a history textbook when I'm looking for solid entertainment. I think if they did something like Koihime (where Romance of the Three Kingdoms is genderflipped and such) it might work, but covering such a large part of history would be really hard to work.

Plus, the Roman Empire is lame. Res Publica FTW.

EDIT: Also, Key? Not the company you'd be looking for to do such a thing, unless you really do want a moefest VN about history. I imagine a Type Moon visual novel on Rome would be hilarious, though, if only because it would be messed around with in so many ways.

I bet Alice Soft could do it, but that would mean there'd be tons of rape and stuff.

Yeah, I imagine Lucretia would get a scene then.

Nope, Key will only provide experience on the topic and the VN game engine. The meat of the game would be provided by our favorite Finnish historical game developer Paradox Interactive cool

And I agree that the Roman Empire after the Five Good Emperors was an unabashed clusterfuck. But then again after the fall of the Western Empire the Byzantine Empire was awesome up until the 4th Crusade. tongue

If we are talking about improbable wishes, I would give an arm and an eyeball for A Song Of Ice And Fire VN.
