Personally, my favorite was Homura fighting Walpurgisnacht. Dat Gun pr0n.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiSurface to ship missiles, apparently.
Random fun fact: The two misogynist dudes Sayaka confronts were basically taken wholesale from a real conversation the writer overheard while he was on a train.

There's a better fight scene in Rebellion, but I can't talk too much about it because spoilers.
Song of the SirensAchaemenid, you probably should have watched the first and second movies, since they are basically a recap of the entire series with higher production values, but since you've already watched the entire series, there's not much point in doing so.
But seriously, now that you've caught up, you should follow advice and go watch rebellion. Your Madoka experience is not complete until you watched that. Then report back with your findings.
P.S. There's a Madoka manga called Different story, which has Mami as the main character and thus shows off more of her than the anime does, for obvious reasons. It's a good read, if you have the time for it.

ALL HAIL THE WARGERBIL!The series is streamable legally on several different sites, but the movies have to be bought or... the other thing. I'm still not sure whether I think the movies are better, anyway. Shorter, at least.
Rebellion is definitely worth watching, but it's very meta, indirectly based on a lot of quirky fan things. Like the fact that Charlotte, the candy witch that ate Mami, is inexplicably popular and often shipped with Mami. And the general desire for a happier ending, and stuff like that. It's enough of a Mind Screw for us superfans that... well, I'm actually not sure if it'd be more or less of one for someone who just finished the series.
For a different team there's also Kazumi's story.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Well, for those who can't see the Rebelion movie for whatever reason, I suppose I can give you guys a taste of what you are missing out on, so here:

ALL HAIL THE WARGERBIL!Have we pored over that video for ~symbolism~ yet? That seems like a thing we should do. Like Kyouko holding her soul gem in her mouth (her food fixation) and Sayaka running into a silhouette of herself as a meguca (she was all hung up on becoming a hero).
You want symbolism, check out the runes in Homura's transformation sequence.
I kill myself
They glorify death
I can't read runes, so thanks for the translation.
Homura remains the very picture of mental health, I see.
Parts of Homura's thing are sorta like the Nutcracker ballet.
.......
And now, years later, I finally ask:
How did Homura fit a Type 88 Surface to Ship Missile launcher truck, a normal truck, and a FUCKING BATTLESHIP in her time buckler?
I mean yeah, once you put it in, it's in, but how do you even shove those things in there in the first place. Did she just pick them up and go Alley oop! In ya go!!!
I can't believe it took me three years to ask about that.
One Strip! One Strip! She didn't. They were there already.
Presumably it's dimensionally transcendental.
Well the thing is, that means, she paused time, and brought them there ahead of time. But people would have noticed, depending on when she did it (I mean, someone would have especially noticed a battleship missing).
And she would have still needed to get it in the air to drop it on Walpurgis' face, so there are still some mysteries abound on that front.
And part of me wishes Kyuubey hadn't told her that going back in time would have made things worse, because you know she would have found more missile platforms, and more Battleships to throw at the damned thing if she'd been able to redo things again.
Hell, I think she would have tossed an entire fleet armada at Walpurgis Night as her opening volley instead.
One Strip! One Strip! It was said somewhere that Walpurgisnacht's humanoid torso is a decoy, so as long as Homura can't find its actual core/body, she can't kill it no matter how many missiles and bombs she throws at it.
...what if they're all nukes?
I'm serious. What if instead of dropping battleships she drops about a hundred boomer subs on it, complete with their intercontinental ballistic missiles?
Sure, Japan would be utterly destroyed and everyone would be dead, but then Madoka wouldn't make the contract.

If you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy, have some taste. Use all your well-learned politesse or I'll lay your soul to waste.Japan really really doesn't like nuclear weapons. It's very likely that Homura knows victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and it's a fact that Urobuchi does.
Japan explicitly forbids nuclear weapons on their shores. Bringing nukes to Japan is a war crime.
It seems unlikely Homura would care very much about the morals of it, and much more likely there were practical concerns getting in her way (i.e. how are you going to get nukes while still keeping an eye on Madoka - there aren't any in Japan, radiation damage to Madoka, etc)
Anyone here knows the name of the insert song that happens during the Witch scene in Rebellion? I've been trying to look for it, but it's not in the general movie OST and the Madoka wiki is apparently run by Madmen that makes navigation borderline impossible. Searching for Madoka Rebellion insert song just saddles me with either the Cake song or the OP and ED.
ALL HAIL THE WARGERBIL!Do you mean "Noi!"?
No, that song is part of the OST. I'm referring to the battle song, the one the plays during the large scale witch on witch battle at the end, though I can understand why you might have thought otherwise. I should've phrased it better.

ALL HAIL THE WARGERBIL!
My favourite scene is the one where Oktavia first appears.
