It's not a Now or Never Kiss either. "The point is, this is no place for UST. The Not-A-Couple don't want to go out without revealing how they really feel. It's now or never. They kiss." There is no element of "revealing feelings" in that, with or without context.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. But there could be, without context.
The original ideal idea was trying to find a kissing couple with impending danger. troacctid Specifically asked for a gigantic tidal wave in the background. I provided exactly that, but with fire instead of water, that is even better.
Now, you criticise that it's bad because of the characters' not pictured emotions: It doesn't matter! No other picture would show their thinking either! They would look exactly the same!
Uh, no. An incoming tidal wave is not certain death. An incoming blast wave from a nuclear explosion is certain death.
You're trying to argue from both sides, I think :P With context, it's a dream and they survive so it's ok, and without context nothing says it's a dream so it's ok? I think it's just not good. Now or Never Kiss is not "the proper way to welcome the end of the world", it's "death appears imminent so the non-couple-for-whatever-reason kiss because (afatk) it's now or never". A couple kissing with a mushroom cloud in the background doesn't show that at all.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.... so why not go with the Han-Leia example?
You do the same thing. "On it's own it's not OK because it looks like they will die, and in context it's not OK because they are not in real danger"? :P
"Death appears imminent" is actually an expectation of the trope. It looks like they will die, so they kiss, but they survive.
It's blurry, and it needs two frames for something that can be shown in one.

I disagree that "using different premises to support a conclusion" and "using opposite premises to support a conclusion" are the same thing.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 2 finale◊
Caption would have to clarify that the glowy thing is a hell-vortex about to swallow the world, but that's probably okay. I'm more worried about whether it's too spoilery.

Rhymes with "Protracted."^The caption wouldn't need to do that. It seems clear that it's a bad thing that isn't supposed to be there.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWell, that's certainly better than the Sonic pic.
Bump.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Uploaded. Does it work?

Rhymes with "Protracted."The image that's currently at You Don't Want to Die a Virgin, Do You? can work here. It doesn't work there, at any rate (non-indicative). If we're not using that, the live action one with the nuke is the best one we have currently IMO would be the best one we have, if the title of this trope actually fit the trope. Why does "we die in two minutes" not count as "now or never" again?

Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toNow or Never Kiss is about characters revealing previously-suppressed romantic feelings because they think doom is imminent.
Kissing because "we die in two minutes" may count as a "now or never kiss", but not as a Now or Never Kiss.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. That's not too bad.
Barring analogy or metaphor, I find the fact that a "trope name" does not actually qualify for being a "Trope Name" a bad sign. But this is probably a discussion for the TRS.

Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toThe actual definition of the trope is more narrow than the title suggests, which is common.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The Buffy pic's the best of what we've got right now.
Not necessarily. It's hard to tell what's going on in the background. I prefer the Han-Leia one myself, as it shows a stormtrooper holding them at gunpoint, and then Han being dragged away.
Bump. The Watchmen image is okay, but it's not really ideal. How about:
Maybe with a better caption though :P
No way to tell that that's a bomb in the background, unfortunately.
I thought it was a propane tank myself. That said, it's a step in the right direction.
Wasn't there one in Galaxy Quest where they're kissing in front of a countdown?
Fight smart, not fair.Unfortunately, the text in this◊ image is probably going to be illegible at wiki size.
Someone mentioned earlier on the idea of using the Han-Leia kiss, except using two screenshots for the page image instead of one. Seeing as how the video I used for the screenshots is fairly widescreen, a page image combining the two can still be wider than it is tall even when it leaves some blank space between them, so that helps...
