That's why the Recon Drone is the anti-camper device. The thing is simple but brilliant. Or the crap load of UAV's will do. tongue

Fuck Recon Drones. Those things drive me nuts with that fucking flash effect.

Kinda weird that you can take 'em out with a single knife attack, though.

The Recon Drone has a crazy amount of flares though. An EMP grenade destroys it in one hit though.

[up][up]I used a recon drone in knife range, but that's because I'm used to the unrealistic MAV tactics in BF 3.

It's funny watching people trying to shoot it down though, the only weakness with it is that the turning is really slow.

Yep, quite a few don't get that the enemy can see exactly where they are now at all times. They still camp anyway, not realising how pointless it is. waii

Was there ever a point in this thread where people said which system they play on and what their handles are? I don't feel like reading the whole thing. I play on PC and my handle is...Martello. Fucking surprise there I'm sure.

Not sure if this was mentioned here already, but is anyone else really, really unsatisfied by the ending to the campaign?

I am, Price gets a fitting conclusion to the whole storyline. If it is his last appearence, it would be a fitting send off.

But what happened to Ramirez? To Frost? To what was left of Saudi Arabia Al-Asad's country? Why is the world letting Russia get away scot-free after causing so much damage? Why did Makarov and Ultranationalist Russia in general become hypercompetent? What happened to people like Dunn who wanted to burn Moscow to the ground? I was actually looking forward to invading Russia and seeing our heroes turn into the bloodthirsty invaders they were fighting. It just seemed like things were wrapped up way too cleanly and quickly.

My guess is that the writers wanted to avoid the problems that come with having Loadsand Loadsof Characters in a usually short campaign, and writing in that the Rangers are going all over the world fighting Russians (instead of Delta Force) wouldn't make sense.

Not all over the world, just Russia. They got pulled from Afghanistan to the United States, so I don't see how this is anymore unbelievable if they were launching a full invasion like they should've. Instead we get Russia invading someone else again.

^^^ My big guess is that while Vorshevsky wanted peace after tens of thousands of Russians were slaughtered far from home (and the US President was the same way) events would conspire in Modern Warfare 4 to show how Reality Ensues, how despite the best efforts of politicians like Vorshevsky, you'll either end up with massively intolerable reparations and thus a short Time Skip later the cause of World War Two all over again or worse the US citizenry won't take the Russian invasion lying down and will force the US President's hand into going after Russia itself.

Or in less words, peace talks break apart and the thought by both leaders they could get a Hollywood ending from the third game comes undone.

Put another way, do to Modern Warfare 3 with 4 what Modern Warfare 2 did to 1 which had also a similar Hollywood idea of Kill/Make peace with the Leader, End the War.

I can't see how price is cruel. He kills murderers, traitors, etc. but come on, the warlord was a dick, Al-Asad would rather detonate a nuke inside his own capitol instead of surrendering, and all Price heard was, "Makarov... knows... Yuri.." There was no practical solution to those killed: Nukes were inbound, Al-Asad was worthless; Warrabe was ust reposible for the deaths of who knows how much SAS guys(Hereford boys), which Price used to be in; and Price didn't kill Yuri and gave him a chance to explain.

Does anyone think it would of been cool if they made soap gay? Not make a big deal about it or anything just have him make a few throw away comments about having a partner back home who he reveales as male before the final mission.

It would a good way to acknowledge the 100s of brave LGBT men and women severing in the armed forces and Just think of all the frat boys it would have enraged.grin

Would it do anything that would advance the underlying plot? Probably not.

"Guys, I'm gay. I have a man waiting for me at home."

"That's nice Soap, now get back into position."

And why would Activision want to anger one of their major demographics by adding something that would probably be inconsequential? Sexuality doesn't really fit into a game like this. It's best to just let fans imagine things.

Yes acknowledging them would be nice, but considering that the repeal if Don't Ask/Tell basically means it's not even a serious issue, why bother bringing up something that doesn't matter? Gay (as an umbrella term) , straight, asexual, doesn't matter when you're in uniform.

I gotta say I'm in agreement there.

That first paragraph is pretty much my reasons too. There'e no need or reason, and I doubt the rabid fanbase would take it well. While one may say Theres No Such Thing As Bad Publicity, this wouldn't be, IMO.

That, and the fangirls do all that imagining for us. I think its best to let the fans take care of that.
