Yeah, actually kemono is pretty common in Japan. It's just not as "vocal" as anime, but it's there (and pretty much "on par" with the others as opposed to furries, I guess they don't drama a lot?)
Also... about Namco thing. This has been a pet peeve of mine. First off, Bandai side is publishing this game (as they technically own it, being Cyber Connect 2 and all). Second, people tend to forget Bandai exists... despite the fact that it was Bandai who bought Namco. Bandai should've just let Namco die or something just to teach the lesson. XD
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life. Methinks kemono has stayed quite reserved compared to the western Furry Fandom, possibly due to cultural differences regarding being open about stuff like that. They seem like two completely different beasts social phenomena.
In essence, it is the Japanese Furry Fandom, but at the same not similar to Furry Fandom. Dig it? XD The kemono fandom tend to treat each other quite well, and has produced well liked stuff like Morenatsu which is well-liked by the fandom without sounding so... oblique. They also vary from audience, from Zorori to Doggie. XD
Anyway I just realized that some of their ads are a bit... weird. Why do I have to know how a dog man uses a toilet? o_o

I think the Winter 2011 thing was just a promo for the DLC quests. How exactly did it come to be taken as proof of an EU release?
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"English and funny Nietzsche quote? Also desperate hope.
...Let us in...Must... Maintain... Hopes... Of English release...
EDIT: Hey look, a character poll! And you get a nice wallpaper for voting!
In other news, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF- (Look for where Solatorobo is mentioned.)

I don't have too much to say.So yeah, hopes of an English release have almost completely died...
I don't have too much to say.I think they need more indication that there is actually a reason to port it.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Define "here". There was a French version of the game released at the promo. It has been rated. Europe and maybe Aussie may be lucky yet. The loss can be...mitigated.
That's a problem then. There is a demand for this Spiritual Successor, but Tail Concerto was a Cult Classic. I severely doubt Namco Bandai of all people would look into a localization. Heck, Tail Concerto wasn't even affiliated with them, it was published by Atlus if I remember correctly. Bandai in Japan before the merge actually.
Still holding out for EU.

...Let us in...Yeah, it does sound like they will at least be producing an English version, but whether we'll see it in America is another matter.
I'm interested in seeing it done because it appears to be a well-structured and inventive DS title. These are currently very rare. My poor DS has sat neglected in my bag for quite some time.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Someone tell me straight: UK release. It's happening, right? If so, we can always import it from there.
"I could go on listing the stupid design decisions... so I will!" — Yahtzee's job descriptionIf it's happening, Bandai Namco is doing its hardest to make sure that no actual confirmation is going out. I'm guessing that if there's still no info by June 9, its not going to happen.
I don't have too much to say.Hey, if anyone can read Japanease, do you know what this is?

Using my crack translation team (i.e. Google Translate) I have deduced that this month (Feb) is Solatorobo month for them. I'm just asking since the twitter's been going crazy with it.
...Why yes, I am using Google Translate to attempt to follow their twitter. Why do you ask?
EDIT: Also, because it hasn't been posted yet, the video of the French version that was showcased last July in the Japan Expo.
Do note that this was recorded in July 2010, it should not be seen as proof that the game has been localised. Only that there's already a French version of a demo of the game.

...Let us in...That trailer on the first page put this game on my 'want radar'.
I hope at least one foreign-language version comes out, if an English release doesn't happen. That'd make my job sooooo much easier.
In the event of a firestorm, the salad bar will remain open. Why are people associating Namco side in this project when it's a Bandai side? XD
I really doubt Cyber Connect 2 will not let their game be sent here, as most of their games have been brought over to the US.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life. That's true for existing franchises with strong fan support, like Naruto Ultimate Ninja and the Dot Hack series, but this can practically be considered their first original production since...well the original Dot Hack, Silent Bomber and Tail Concerto, the latter two which were their first two games. These two games were made while they were still just CyberConnect, before they had a change of direction. Both sold poorly and were the reason they reformed into Cyber Connect 2. Although Solatorobo is technically not a new franchise, it doesn't have the safe, comfy fanbase that their other games have had.
This game and Asuras Wrath are both risky ventures. Ventures I hope will see a localisation.
EDIT: Slightly off-topic, but if you would like to know more about Cyber Connect 2 and its history, check out this interview. It also gives some insight into their game development team. More artists than programmers, apparently.

...Let us in...If it does make it here I'll buy a copy. Its always good idea to lend support to small game developers
To be fair though the Bronx-verse (the setting of Tail Concerto, Solatorobo and a non-video game entity called Mamoru-kun) is in itself obscure.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Hey! Are you in Japan in about a week's time? If so then I ENVY YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW:
http://www.cc2.co.jp/solarobo/event/index.html
Look at that merchandise! I want both mugs! I really, really want the mugs!
...Let us in...The event seems very interesting. It seems like there will be art for the game on display, as well as autograph signings. I wonder if that artbook they are selling will show up on eBay or someth- HOLY CRAP THOSE MUGS ARE ADORABLE!
I don't have too much to say.So...did they beat the world record with their 100 commercial extravaganza? And if so, will it be registered? It'd be a shame for all those 100 commercials just to be seen as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
...Let us in...
Yeah that's what I figured. Probably not perfect, probably won't revolutionize the way we see platformers or anything, but it's just looks so damn charming...
