A Deadly Doctor Hero

I've been tossing around ideas for a story, and making the hero a Deadly Doctor...problem is, everything I know about the medical world can be summed up with a playthrough of Trauma Center. Anybody have any advice/suggestions? I'm pretty much open to anything right now.

If it helps, here are a few "guidelines":

• The hero is about 21, and while still in college is planning on heading to medical school to become a doctor. Or something like that.
• The story itself is pretty heavy on fantasy elements, so there's plenty of leeway to exploit.
• I can think of a few tools he might use off the top of my head: scalpels, suturing, forceps, to name a few. Even so, I can't say I know just how to integrate them yet.
• Maybe his Limit Break of sorts could involve summoning a caduceus to attack? That'd be kind of cool, right?

Well, have at it. Show me the power of Asklepios!

Hmm . . . A knowledge of anatomy presumably means a knowledge of where to hit someone to end a fight quickly. Depending on his personality and morals, he could be the type to go straight for the windpipe.

Also, awareness of what's a proper dose of medicine means awareness of what's an overdose of medicine. He could be quite an effective poisoner.

Attacking vitals and poisoning...yeah, that could work.

Oh, and personality-wise, the hero's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. He's smart, too, so logically he would want to end the fight pretty quickly - especially since he's a Badass Abnormal going up against...well, things that are far, far stronger.

I can't help too much with anatomy, but I wanted to say that your idea is pure awesome. Sincerity Mode is on. I have rarely seen a Deadly Doctor hero. If ever.
