The Twilight Of The Gods

Miserix looked at the portal, hesitated and walked in.

"This will be a real picnic".

The sarcasm was simply dripping from his words.

Maul stepped through the portal.

Almost immediately after their combined strength thwarted an attack by the forces of Apokalips, the heroes of Earth disappeared without a trace. None knew the reason for this disaster, although some called it an Act of God. Whatever the reason, the Earth found itself all but defenceless against an onslaught of superhuman threats. The extraterrestrial android known as Brainiac has set into motion a chain of events that may bring about the end of days....

-Several weeks before the disappearance, a small meteor crashed to Earth several miles outside Gotham City. It was discovered to be emitting an unknown energy reading, and was taken to S.T.A.R. Labs for further study...-

-The Overlords found themselves standing in an immense room, the walls lined with computers. The room was dark, but it was oddly familiar to Zod...-

"Strange... it almost seems to resemble-"

-he was struck with realisation-

"The Watchtower?!"

"Where the hell are we?"

The Shocker Rider noted that he was in a different place.

"The Watchtower you say?" The Shocker minion said when he overheard Zod.

"Hm... What is this place, Zod?" Daido asked Zod.

Azula glanced around slightly, starting to scowl. "Well now where are we? This whole thing is ridiculous. Zod, this is somewhere familiar to you?"

Xemnas arrived on the other side of the portal his companions had entered. Gauging the reactions of Zod and the other curious members, he stood silently as confusion swept around the group.

   "Oh. Shiny."   

Majora hovered over to one of the computers, observing it with interest and tapping a few buttons, watching the screen intently.

   "You know this place, Mr. Zod?"   

"Whats the Watchtower?" Flandre asked, flying circles around the spacious room they were in. She didn't know what half of the things here were, but they were colorful and did light up. That amused her for some reason.

Norman stops awing the big space station. This makes the International Space Station look like child's play. "The Watchtower general?"

The Master sighs, "Honestly, I was expecting something more impressive..."

"Reminds me a lot of that base me and my group built inside Futo Tower. Fun times..." Daido said.

"Now what?" The Shocker Rider asked. "Is there anyone else in here besides us?"

"Thats exactly my point! I expected more, but this is, well, practically nothing!"

Miserix glanced around the facility with mild intrest.

"This place......needs renovations".

Miserix eyeed one of the computers and sent a bolt of shadow energy sizziling towards it.

-Ganondorf looks around.-

You know this place?

The Master rolls his eyes, "Honestly, I don't care! Aren't we supposed to be the heroes for this one? Well, wheres the crowds of people cheering for us? Where are the innocents we save for no reason what so ever? Where's the big bad guys we get to eviscerate with no consequences? This is not where I want to be."

   "Well, Mr Koschei, it's where we are...."   

   "You might want to get used to it."   

The Master sighs and rubs his temples, "Maybe next time will be more impressive..."

"It appears that we are in my Universe, although not a part of it I frequent often. This place... it is the headquarters of a group of superhuman beings who call themselves the Justice League, one of whom is my arch foe. They presume to call themselves Earth's greatest heroes."

-he tapped buttons on a console-

"But from the looks of things, they are absent at the moment..."

Maul crossed his hands. "This place is pathetically backwater," he said. "It does not even possess holo-projectors."

"AGREED."

-Zod rolled his eyes at their comments-

"Your words bespeak your ignorance. This space station is powered by combined Martian, Thanagarian and Kryptonian technology as well as that of New Genesis and Apokolips. I doubt either of you could so much as replace a lighting unit without years of training."

-he pressed a button and a holographic image of the Watchtower◊ appeared above the table in the center of the room-

"Well, this place does seem backwater," said Maul, "But appearances could be deceiving. What is our goal in this challenge, then, Zod?"
