"I think we should keep moving. This place is jus- whoa."
The sun slowly slipped behind the rooftops, the last few rays disappearing with a tactful eloquence, and the town came alive. An unearthly blue light emanated from each building as figures slowly, hazily, in the same ice-cool shade, coalesced into view, as if they had been going about their business all along. A few hats were tipped in the group's direction in a positively Dickenesque show of politness as their owners passed by.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]"Well then. Ghosts were a second guess..." she murmurs to herself as she simply smiles to the figures.

Something something Arena."Well, let's go."
Joanna starts after Daydre, keeping an eye on him and occasionally turning to look at the others.
Daydre still doesn't seem to look out of the ordinary. Relatively speaking anyway. He looks a little uncomfortable but that's it.
off the shitsThea flinched upon noticing the towns spectral inhabitants. She looked around in panic, fear evident on her face, trying to find a safe place away from them.
"Oh no. No, no, no."
Erin backed up, obviously taken just as aback as Thea was.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]"Who would have thought that this was a literal ghost town?" She chuckles, giving a forced laugh, then observing the mannerisms of the apparitions with a bit of a pale face.
Something something Arena.Morgan walks with the group. She doesn't speak, and she noticeably avoids eye contact with Joanna.
Thea stumbled as she tried to walk towards the towns edge, just wantig to get out of there. "G-damn it my back..."
"Hahhhhhhhhh-"
Erin shook their head and refocused.
"I think it's seriously time to go."
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Natalia simply shrugs, and begins to follow Erin and Thea. "And we don't even know the name of this town..." she quietly mumbles to herself.
Something something Arena.Joanna doesn't take notice of Morgan avoiding eye contact as she looks back and walks on as usual. Well, there is something bothering her. It was supposed to be a joking remark, but she didn't mean to...sting Morgan so. Perhaps, at that point, Morgan's..."awakening" had been distant enough in her mind to not warrant a second guess on her joke, and she was consoling with Daydre.
Oh, no, what if her joke had made Daydre feel bad, too? Shoot, she could've overshot with it, overexaggerated what could be happening to him. Now that she's said it, he could consider it a possibility, start worrying about it: that's the sort of thing to drive a man into insane paranoia. And what if she was right: what if he did become this hulking beast in front of the others? What then would she have to say?
She'll know she'll have to apologize...maybe not to Daydre, but certainly to Morgan. She looks back at Morgan another time.
Morgan has put away the umbrella. She takes off the hood now. It was getting uncomfortable, and she doesn't have to hide among Daydre and the girls. At least she doesn't think she does.
Thea slumped down, clutching her sides as her shoulders began to mve erratically, muscles twitching under her skin. About a minutes later, she began to scream as her hair was lifted by slowly expanding wings, apparently under excruciating pain.
Her sunglasses have fallen down from her face, revealing that her eyes have changed toa skyblue color as opposed to the former brown.

Erin's not freaking out, but they're certainly not taking things well, either, backing away from Thea and crossing their arms.
They look like they're shutting down.
The apparitional crowd seems to take slight notice but looks unconcerned about the events
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Natalia looks surprised, as well as a bit uncomfortable at the moving of Thea's muscles to accommodate for her wings. She then looks at Erin, who seems to be freaking out internally. Finally, she looks at the apparitions who don't seem to mind the chaos.
Natalia doesn't seem sure of what to do now.
Something something Arena.Joanna keeps walking. At the moment, it's all she can really do.
She hopes this doesn't become a pattern; it would become tiresome for the others to deal with some biting comment and then receive an apology with a promise they'll know she'll break.
Well, that, or, given time, they could learn to deal with it. The thought's crude, but it hasn't been very long at all since everyone started getting powers and shit. Maybe they'll get used to a few quips at their expense—at their...strangeness?...new stuff?...powers and shit's expense—once enough time's passed for them to get used to their powers and shit in general. Who knows, maybe the humor would help them to get used to it?
She starts feeling a bit better. Right now, she knows she needs to console the others about all this. She's just about the only person left without anything strange about them: even Erin has those abyssal eyes. ...she just hopes they don't grow envious or disdainful of her. As a shining beacon of "normalcy", she'd be an easy target for such scorn. But if she plays her cards right, she could get out of this without so much as a scratch!
She berates herself for that hideous pun...this is going to be harder than she thought...
Aqua is still around, I promise, I just don't know what to do at the moment
Daydre idly fiddles with a leaf he'd found while walking. A distraction from the silence, which was starting to get to him. He wondered what the others were thinking about. Morgan had seemed bothered by Joanna's comment before.. maybe she still was. He would definitely be bothered by the thought of turning into a monster and killing his friends... Oh right. He was. Had Joanna not realized how that had sounded, especially in front of Morgan?... Hopefully she was being innocently insensitive and that wasn't some kind of intentional barb... However that would work.
... Yeah it was probably unintentional.
off the shitsThea continued screaming, her hands beginning to glow brighter and brighter, illuminating the area around her and somehow beginning to eradicate shadows from the surroundings.
Then she collapsed as the light suddenly turned off, her wings having ceased to expand at 3 meters each (and faintly glowing). She appeared to be unconcious.
*Joshlynn just walks in silence, aside from the continued ticking of her gears sounding off as she walks. She doesn't feel like anything she could say to present company would be of much help to them, thus tries her best to avoid saying anything to those with her. If prompted, she might say something in return, but otherwise... nothing. Well, nothing more than Joshlynn occasionally turning her head to presumably glance at one of the three other party members every so often.*
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Daydre loudly clears his throat in an attempt to break the silence.
off the shits"Sooo... window shopping? I guess we could scout things out. Let's peek around, then."
Georgia begins walking forward, but slowly, hoping someone else would take the lead.
Long live the New Bev."Sure, why not?" Kyle peeks through some windows, kind of like an excited child. "I wonder how these were built on this island, anyway." Kyle wondered.
It's possible these guys may have some advanced tech or somethin' of that manner. Izanagi remarked.
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"
"I think we could take a look around the place. At least we can find out where to go if the others want to come along."
The AI smiles as she turns to check out any places of interest that she can detect from her position.
...eheh
