Asked this somewhere else just now, but I might as well ask it here, too.
I'm curious about the main series characters in Rays. I know it's not a mashup AU like most of the crossovers are. I remember someone saying that they really were the same characters from the original games, but I've also heard they're "reflections" of some kind. I can't seem to find anything that explains it properly, so how does it work?
EDIT: Got the answer. Apparently they create parallel versions of the actual characters with the same memories and personalities. Something like that. Oh geez, poor Luke.

Yeah, I'm liking Rays a lot better. It plays like a regular Tales game, for one thing, and the story seems like there was actual effort put into it.

I'm towards the end of Chapter 4 in Rays. It's gotten really introspective during this chapter - or at least more so than it was - and now I'm sad.
On a different note, I haven't managed to get any extra artes for Repede, so he hasn't been especially useful. Everyone else is fine in that regard, though.
Edit: One last thing: does anyone know how event chapters work? I know we don't have any yet, but I'd like to be ready when they are. Are the characters only available to pick up during the event, or do the chapters stick around? If it's the former, do they ever repeat, or are you out of luck if you miss one?
Also, how do you get costumes? I know you need prisms, but I can't find anywhere that lets me actually use them.

Noticed Symphonia PC is on sale for 4.99. I know it launched in terrible shape and received a bunch of patches. How is it running now?

I'd say get it, that price is a steal. They finally removed the copy protection and the updates have it running a little bit smoother now so go for it.

yep they removed the DRM and while they never could make a 60FPS fix like Zesteria got it there is still the option to patch in HD textures and GC-like-CEL-outlines among other things.

I just noticed that sweet sale on the Tales games on Steam.
I've been meaning to try out one of them eventually (probably after I finish X-2) but with the sale on now its probably a good time to pick one up.
Is there a generally agreed upon best game to start with?
I already own the PS 3 version of Symphonia as well as Xillia 2 (I picked them up on sale for basically nothing when they were clearing out PS 3 games at a store near me.)

I would like it if they went back to branching decisions like Symphonia and Xillia 2 had them but go the extra mile and make it so that you will end up on one of two distinctive routes for the final act based on your previous decisions. Also reintroduce Symphonia's Friendship meter to get in some cash from the waifu crowd.
