Some info on the DLC episode.

I'm still cagey on Edna really. If she just randomly butts in to attack people with her umbrella thing that'll start to annoy me.

Also that DLC episode sounds...kinda eh.

Okay, so Marlind.

When we arrive, the city is knee-deep into the taint, a debilitating illness is going around because of it, the city dogs have been turned into Hound Dog Hyoumas that humans see as only regular dogs and a..."Puppy Dragon" is roaming the skies. First on the agenda is cleansing the town. After nuking all the hound dogs, we need to find some way to drag Puppy Dragon down from the sky, so we go looking for a Normin that can help us with the task. Normin are this game's mascots and Edna has one of them on her umbrella. They're a strange breed of support Seraph.

A Normin named Attack is supposed to live in the nearby museum, but when we get there, it looks like a haunted house. It has been in disrepair for many years. We care attacked by Knight Arthur, a huge, armoured humanoid, only for Attack to pop out of its armoured head when it's defeated. Apparently, Attack was in charge of this museum while it was still in its prime, but when the war and the shit going on with the land started, humans began stealing stuff from the museum and selling it with no regards for its protection. Attack truly loved art, so this frustrated him beyond imagination, eventually turning him into the Hyouma that laid waste to the museum. He's also an avid Lailah fan.

Using Attack's power, we now have enough firepower to shoot down Puppy Dragon with Sorey and Mikulio's fusion bow. After you kick its ass, the Seraph is purified. Poor Rohan was responsible for the mess in Marlindo. He offers to become its guardian using its giant tree as his vessel, but he still feels an area full of taint in the nearby forest, preventing the purification. Sorey wants to go find it, but if they leave the city, they run teh risk of letting more Hound Dogs in since the guards are stricken with illness and can't fight. That's when a mercenary band led by a man named Lucas shows up and Sorey asks their help. Lucas will only take the job if they receive 5,000 Gald as compensation, something which Alicia considers opportunistic. Lucas says that if anything were to happen to his soldiers, Alicia he wouldn't be able to help them without money. Sorey gives the money, but Lucas takes only half of it, since he's actually a nice guy.

At night, Dezel and his female assassin appear at te inn and ask Sorey why he's such a goody shoes purifying all these tainted cities, to which Sorey responds he's just doing what must be done. And then Dezel...leaves. So we visit the forest and kill an Evil Plant tainting it. As the plant is about to burn, it attacks Sorey who is too slow to react, so Alicia and Mikulio take the hit for him. At this point, Edna calls Sorey out on what she has ben suspecting: his eyesight is getting worse because of his contract with Alicia. Alicia doesn't hear this because she's uncoscious. However, it's implied that she can feel she's a burden, so when we return to the now cleansed town, she decides to return to the capital for her royal duties.

The next morning, Rose's guild shows up to say hi and deliver some stuff, when an injured soldier suddenly appears. The soldier warns us that the Empire of Lowlance has began its assault. Sorey wants to help, but Lailah forbids it. A Priest is not supposed to meddle in human wars, since his presence is sure to decide the winning side. However, a man named General Langdon arrives at the village and says Alicia has been captured because she's suspected of plotting treason by using the Priest. The conditiosn for overlooking her "crime" is to have the Priest participate in the war against Lowlance. Sorey accepts this coercion for the sake of Alicia.

At the battlefield, Langdon proves himself to be a bloodthirsty, controlling asshat but Sorey mostly ignores him while he half-heartedly fights. As the battle is not going well, the soldiers intend to pull back and leave Lucas's mercenary squad at the mercy of the enemy lines. Sorey is angered, so he goes into full Jesus mode fusion, walking unfazed in the middle of the enemy lines throwing fires and rocks. The soldiers run screaming that he's a monster, and even Lucas, who trusted Sorey is too afraid to speak. Sorey walks away crestfallen while the Seraphs try to cheer him up, but that's when the negative emotions go over 9,0000000000 and Langdon turns into a Hyouma. He sucked to begin with, so we cut him to pieces with Raishin Hyousouga, Sorey's Mystic Arte. And nothing of value was lost.

However! The battlefield is so beyond tainted that a huge taint engulfs the area as a blob of black mist appears at the top of the hill. Lailah says it's too dangerous, but they go anwyay since all the soldiers around them are currently turning into Hyouma. And surprise, surprise, it's Mr. Lion Face! The Lord of Calamity, Helldalf, responsible for the taint. He's amused to see a new Priest at this age, and begins to trounce Sorey fused with Lailah in about five seconds, only to walk away after roaring at their faces cause their fear amused them. Sorey is now alone in a field full of Hyouma soldiers, and he can't see any of the Seraphs or hear them anymore. Just as he's about to kick the bucket, he's saved by the female assassin that attacked him when he found Edna. Only she completely botches jumping across a huge cliff, so they both tumble in the water to their deaths.

Playing Hearts, got as far as Beryl. Shing is so precious.

Kinda weird that from what articles I read the translation also kinda douched Shing up a bit. Its...kinda funny but also hella dumb.

Did anyone ever read the synopses in Xillia 2? They're written from Ludger's perspective, which means that you get a bit of rare insight into his personality.

Said personality seems to include ending every other sentence with an exclamation mark. Guess he's easily excitable?

His brain is probably overloaded with "Ahhh, debt! Ahhh, my brother! Ahhh, alternate worlds! Ahhh, this small child that doesn't like tomatoes! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!"

I'd probably be a basket case too.

Maybe since through out the whole game, shit he's stressed out maybe? Juuuust a thought.

He's killing universes, remember. Of course hed be stressed out and snappy. You can prettty much make him that way.

...Good point. Poor guy's spent the whole game being dragged around by the plot.

OKAY! I'm at the fight with Chalcedony and his goons in Princeur and Jesus Christ...

Is there an optimal order to take them down? Cause at this point I think I'm just going to use my All Divide.

Peridot goes down first. Burn Strike is a bitch to dodge and she has little HP so you can kill her quickly or let the AI do it. Innes has the defences of a beast and hits like a truck, so she's awesome.

I never found Byrocks and Chal's order to matter much, so long as Peridot goes down first, but you might want to keep him busy until Peridot dies at least. Keep Hisui on a touch-screen shortcut to cast Nurse. I don't know who else you play, but Shing and Gall are prolly good all around choices. Beryl is potentially great for DPS, but if you're having real trouble surviving, she dies really fast. Kohaku doesn't really have any particular strengths in this fight.

Can I just say that Teepo is my favourite thing of everywhere?

Alright again! I'm at the port and I think I might call it a day, since I'm pretty sure the fight with Silver's subordinate is coming up and I'm worried after the mess that was the Cathedral fight.

Also Chalcedony is really fun to play as. Wings!

I actually like Teepo as well. He's funny but he also really gives a unique insight into Elize's mind. And he's adorable. And he's a role that Erin Fitzgerald is pretty great at.

He's kind of like an anti-scrappy. Every time the little guy says something I smile.

I always have Elize on my team in X2 when I can so when I go into caves Teepo always goes "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Listen to that echo! So much fun!"

And then there's his dreaded facesuck.

I love how in X1 Rowen actually fucking flips his fucking shit at Teepo.

"AND JUST WHO DO YOU THINK SAVED THE YOUNG WOMAN YOU INTOLERABLE SOCK PUPPET?!"

Yeah. Teepo is one of the rare cases where that character archtype actually pulls off what it was intended to be, as opposed to being...well, The Scrappy.

And hten there's the X2 post battle skit where Jude kinda goes creepo on Elize

Alright! Got as far as the fight with Incarose. Shit has proceeded to go down. Approaching Sorceress still kicks ass.

EDIT: Brilliant boss fight. Inca's tough but not too much that it becomes frustrating, and the music's amazing.

I thought Teepo was annoying at first, but he grew on me. I find him tolerable at worst and hilarious at best.
