The suits are really cool in Graces. I have all of them. I also have Cheria's Natalia's costume which you should totally get. I'm also partial to Pascal's Harold attire (dat BGM is amazing) and while I didn't buy it, I think you'd appreciate Sophie dressed as Anise. tongue

Soooo...I unlocked the final dungeon. The Seraph bros killing each other and murdering Incarrose was funny. And then she fuses with both of them. Why won't she die?! Oh wait, she did. And opened the way to Rapunzel.evil grin

Combined Mystic Artes are finally available! Sadly, each character can only equip one at a time. Oh, and Quartzians were apparently all as heavy as their names would imply, since Richea says they can't swim. They can walk in the bottom of the sea. o_o

Get it~

Today, I got pictures.

Chal gets all the action.

Anyone know who this guy is?

Beryl murdered a bunch of Gentlemen monsters and made them into a brush. o_o

This is what happens if you try to peek into the hot springs.

And this is what happens if you don't learn your lesson.

And this is what the boys never see.

Now, for something more somber...The game is trying to make me feel sympathy for Incarrose. Don't do that! Sheesh. Yeah, she was kinda in love with him. If you retrieve her core and that of the Seraph Bros, you can access their memories and see how things went to shit. Creed, Richea and Flora wanted to stop the incessant Quartzian fighting (because those guys fought for fun) and Creed's master plan was to use the Mother Zerom Gardenia to absorb all the emotions related to war. Flora opposed the idea because she didn't think it was controllable, so Creed used Richea as Gardenia's core. Richea could not control Gardenia, so the monster absorbed every single Spiria in Quartzia, leaving it a crystallized wasteland. Flora intervened at the last moment and switched places with Richea, sealing herself within Gardenia to hold it back. Richea realised what she had done, but Creed still believed Gardenia could be controlled and that's what led to his constant reincarnations to fight Richea.

You can find a letter in the memories of the Seraph Bros. It's located on the place where an Asteria is growing:

"This letter shall serve as a commemoration of the planting of the Asteria seed. In ten years time, the seed shall bloom into a beautiful golden flower. Its name means "Brilliant Star" in the language of flowers. We pray that by the time this flower blooms, Quartzia will have become the shining star the flower is named after."

Flora Spodune
Richea Spodune
Creed Graphite

This is actually bittersweet, since Asteria is the initial name of Shing's Soma, and it is in fact a golden sword. Flora's original plan to stop the wars was to spread the power of Soma Links so that Quartzians would come to peacefully understand one another, but neither Richea nor Creed believed in her idea. Her dream comes true through the efforts of Shing and Kohaku who manage to unite the world before the crisis, something which Richea believes is the "hero" mentioned in her fairy tale. The power to connect emotions.

I think I'm gonna cry. ;_;

B-B-But that's impossible! He looks like a disco reject from the 80s! Only thing that could possibly come close are Legendia's awful designs.

Well, he was responsible for developing Gardenia. And had a terribly inflated sense of his own abilities. And Richea, the dumbass, was full on board with the plan until Gardenia almost ate her. But the Quartzians were such massive assholes, I can see why she went along with that dumb plan. It's ironic how she ended up his worst enemy, since Creed practically worships the ground Flora walked on but does everything Flora didn't want. He treats Mecha Quartzians, including Incarrose like crap (while Flora showed them kindness and helped develop good emotions in their Spiria, to the point that Chrinoseraph is still loyal to her after having not seen her for 2,000 years), considers the people from Shing's planet not even worth talking to (when Flora was opposed to experimenting on them to produce Zeroms), and couldn't care less about Soma despite its power letting us kick his mechanoid's collective asses.

Creed, you're such a dumbass.

And now I have gotten myself Tales of Xilia. Slowly but surely I'm catching up on all the great Tales games I've been missing out on...But first I got to replay Tales of Symphonia 1 and 2 on the HD Collection.

.....

So......

Somebody get me a dead horse, cause I have an old topic to bring up. You'll all have to forgive me.

So anyway Nintendo just announced Pokken, a Tekken / Pokemon crossover.

They are also involved in Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

So it got me to thinking, if they are willing to help develop games with Nintendo's First party franchises, then maybe their is a chance of a new Tales Wii U game at some point.

~Ducks a brick~

Don't kill me! I know I keep bringing that back up; I'd actually given up on it until I found out about Pokken, and remembered Smash Bros.

Really, I think they could still do a game for the series on Wii U, if they are willing to make these games as well. It may take a long time though, as they clearly have a lot of projects in the pipe (Tekken 7, Tales Of Zestiria, Tekken X Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Now Pokken), but like a truly delusional hopeful guy, I'm not quite ready to give up on it.

Ok, now you can brick me, but I Regret Nothing.

[up] Yeah, it feels rather weird. A Dynasty Warriors with Zelda characters. Now a Tekken with the Pokemon gang as fighters. What's next? Star Fox Adventures 2, using a 3D LMBS? (That would be AWESOME, actually.) Or a 3D Kirby with Ghostly Adventures gameplay? It already has chomping + powers...

Xillia 2 thingy: I have noticed that the shops are back to Vesperia's 'every city has unique wares + Synth to get the best stuff' system. Boo. I loved the prequel's shop. Saw up to the 5th chapter. STILL no Corpse Shell explanation (at least gameplay-wise) Oh, has anyone tried to load a japanese save with the jap only costumes? Just curious.

@ Lu: your guys should drill this into Creed's skull: Zerom eat hearts. Young or old, strong or weak, heroic or evil, sentient or not. ZEROM EAT HEARTS. Also, you don't kill Corundum in the sense that you never get to fight her, but it seems like Creed already offed her for you. I should really keep playing...

[up][up] Ya need a CFW to make use of the un-released DLC (it's already in the game data if you know how to look, buying it from the PSN just unlocks it according to superhackerpowers folks).

And noooooo, he doesn't off Corrundum. Richea saves her ass and the stupid robot is all Richea-saaaamaaa~ And she enters a Boke and Tsukkomi Routine with Beryl cause why not. Ugggggh. -_-

Also...Zerom weren't as much a danger for the Quartzians. They are, in fact, weapons created by Quartzians to be used in war. They controlled them and cultivated them by sacrificing Cellrade's people and then used them in the war like the Mechas. Gardenia was the first massive Mother Zerom project, and Creed was an overconfident dumbass, so he massively failed. Flora was the one who discovered Soma, but nobody believed her Soma Link plan would work. Jerks.

I love how everything is in the picture book with the story of the sleeping princess:

Sleeping Princess in the Forest of Thorns
Sleeping Princess dreaming for a thousand years
Emerald is her flowing hair, rose crystals are her bashful cheeks
Richea's deactivated body inside Cinderellion," the forest of thorns". Gemlike hair and body was the main feature of the Quartzians.
Sleeping Princess in the Forest of Thorns
Pitiful Princess Caged in a never-ending sleep
Poisoned are her feelings
Cursed by the Scarlet-Haired Devil
Creed's ever-lasting hunt for Richea's host, since only she can open the door to Cinderellion.
Deep within the forest
Dreaming an eternal dream
Where the world perishes
Richea's memories of the destruction of Quartzia, and her fears that it may repeat itself
One day, the Black Moon shall fall
One day, the White Moon shall crumble
Her prayers devoured by the monsters
That nest in dreams and wither to dust
The black moon is Gardenia's eventual revival that will absorb all Spiria in the world, while Richea's seal that holds back Gardenia also holds back the Zerom. The moment she is shattered along with Amber's Spirune, the Zerom are set loose in the world.
Her pearl tears crushed and scattered
Sleeping Princess in the Forest of Thorns
Sleeping Princess wrapped in a cloak of thorns
Till the day her nightmare becomes a reality
Till her day a hero ends her dream
Her tears probably refer to shattering Amber's Spirune, while her nightmare is the return of Gardenia. The hero that finally awakens her is not Shing, as we thought, but the connected feelings of all the people in the world through the power of Soma.

Hearts is so cheesy. But in such a good way, I can't help but smile.

So I just realized something. The sea is sacred in Legendia, right? That's why all the water-based spells are stand-ins for light element.

So then, if Shirley can't stand seawater...that doesn't bode well. Now I'm really curious about why that's the case.

@ Lu: oh, I meant loading your jap save with your english version disc, as Split seems to be doing (he gets LOADS of exp per battle and owns 99 of every material, that HAS to be a NG+ he is playing.) Wondered if you would get your japanese DLC content (costumes) plus english text that way.

Ah, people were hoping to leave her connected to that painful machine, but Richea had to be a goody-shoes and save her. Boke and Tsukkomi, eh... I am afraid to ask which of the two is the straight man and which is the loon. tongue Will Beri-Coru become the next Mari-Ari?

Hey, that just makes my point. *owns a Zerom* Here boy, go bite that soldier there and I will give you this... *lets it chomp on a prisoner's heart* Good boy. What? Are you still hungry? GAH! *is chomped* (Overconfident dumbass there.)

Hah! The most ultra cheesy story I had experienced was ZHP Unlosing Ranger on the PSP. Kombat! *calls* If your PSP's CFW dislikes your new game, you complement it with an emulator. (Again, responsible use of CFW / emus limit them to otherwise unavailable games, like your Tales VS.)

@ Sapphire: I will try not to spoil much: While it's true that SEA water burns her, fresh water still heals her. Why is this? The sea elves' god, Nerifes, resides in the sea. It kind of hates humanity. Shirley not only loves humanity (okay, just Senel...) but also has a higher level of conection to Nerifes via being the prophesized Merines. That's what makes her 'feel' the anger of her god (by touching seawater) with special intensity.

@ Mage of Fire: Funny you would mention this. I saw a copy of Abyss 3DS at Gamestop. URGE TO BUYYYY!: overcome. (1- I have no money at all. 2- I don't even have a 3DS.) But still. The URGE is PAINFUL!

Oh man. Hearts ending involves a giant lightsaber composed of all the Spiria Gardenia absorbed slicing the monster from the inside. Yeeeeeeeeees.

Oh right, the details: as it turns out, Gardenia's core Spiria is a copy of Creed's, so it wants the same thing as Creed does: to find love and companionship, which is why it's acting like a massive butterfly eating everything. See, Creed's parents abandoned him because he was freakishly powerful and secluded, and he really never managed to connect with anyone, not even Flora. So he tries to revive her, massively fails, we kick his ass and then Shing...feels...sorry for him. And tries to rescue him. In a final moment of not-so-much-assholishness, he begs us to take Flora with us and activates a spell to send us out, but Flora stays with him as Gardenia explodes.

Bye bye, Creed. You were almost a total asshole.

The Quartzian's Spiria had stayed intact within Gardenia by linking, so with the destruction of the monster they return to their planet. They do not have the power to revive it, but by establishing a Soma Link with Cellrand via Cinderellion, the planet will eventually regain its former form. Corrundum promises to stay and monitor the process, acting as the core of the link.

Richea has no more time. After 2,000 years, she has to turn into a white crystal like the rest of the Quartzians because her Spiria's life is at an end. Hisui and Kunzite have finally devised a plan to save her. By putting Kunzite in a state of eternal sleep, Richea can sleep within his Spir Maze forever, connected with everyone's feelings. So she and kunzite will forever watch over the worlds from Cinderellion.

As a final goodbye, everyone revises the story of the sleeping princess to follow its new conclusion:

Shing: Sleeping Princess in the Forest of Thorns
spacenPrincess dreaming for a thousand years
Amber: Her feelings connected to her true friends
spacenHer sword of dreams entrusted to them
Hisui: The heroes who shall fell the Black Moon
Gallando: One day, the White Moon shall be born
Beryl: The whale that soars the sky shall become a star
spacenHer sorrowful nightmare extinguished
Innes: Dreaming Princess in the Forest of Thorns
Chal: Princess that binds our hearts together
Kunzite: Protected by her steel knight
spaceneIn her embrace rests the shining star
Richea: Dreaming an eternal dream
All: Where the world awakens.

waii

And then Shing and Amber finally go smoooooch. Beryl is satisfied.

Yaaaaaay.

Hisui can't get a girl alone.

[up] Ops, sorry. But you wouldn't have noticed. Problem is, the game never actually explains it. When Shirley has her big scene (one I won't even hint at) the issue is dropped. Seawater stops hurting her... quite the opposite. But no party member even lampshades it again. Mine is just a theory belonging to the WMG realm, because the GAME never tries to explain it.

I will try to be careful from now on. sad Will 100 whippings be enough? *whips himself* Legendia's plot deserves to be felt all the way through. Now that someone finally wants to play it, I should thread carefully to not make you drop it partway through. (Shirley has enough haters already, I was nervous...)

The scene is straight out of KH.

Yes, but you need a CFW to unlock the DLC or it won't be compatible.

Time to do post-game stuff. I neatly got my ass kicked by the crazy couple of Pascal and Hubert dressed in cat suits. But then I kicked them in the nads and woooooooon~ Clearing single mode in the arena gives you a palette swap costume for the character you used. Amber's is piiiiiiink.

The bonus dungeon is the Triverse Gate where I can see we'll learn stuff about Gall. The puzzles aren't too bad, but you have to face dark versions of your characters. SOLO. Lemme tell ya, Hisui is cheap. Goddamn broken fella. They give you a dark palette swap costume and a Devil's Arm.

Why does Elle use her mother's name? Though obviously calling her 'Elle Kresnik' would give away the twist really easily.
