Portraying Samus as a somewhat campy hero is something I can live with.

That's right, I suppose scientists would be interested in Samus' genetic makeip, thanks to the Chozo infusion.

Geneticists getting excited over a DNA infusion would be an amusing scene.

Now I've got this image of scientists following Samus around after she pricks her finger on something or gets a bloody nose.

The Captain SNES portrayal of Samus has her with a kind of tranquil fury

I don't find that too far out of bounds since with her childhood, there'd be lasting reprecussions.

Hippy bird meditation is probably good for her though.

Aww, I was hoping it'd just be like a tiny little Geemer with a Commissar Cap resting on its spikes and a little medal pinned to its belly, speaking with a gruff and imposing yet warm voice.

I also forgot to mention that the art in those strips are precious. Favorites would definitely be the GF ones, because of:

A) In the first image, a 12-year-old Samus(?)

B) In the second image, Samus handling a mission a bit different than Adam would've preffered...

I think you're right. I didn't really catch it at first because the knees look too high up but I just noticed there's a dias on the dias so yeah.

Now I imagine them meditating with an orb in their hands. Not like a "gazing into the crystal ball" thing - it's just a weight. It keeps them from fidgeting by giving their hands a job.

Are you saying that Samus has Morphballs so Chozo can have handjobs?

Sexual implications aside, if Chozo have sensitive hands (even considering that hands are more sensitive than lets say the arm), having a heavy weight in the palm might be very relaxing.

Maybe it's a holdover from the whole bird thing? Eggs are pretty rounded, after all.

Maybe they just really like round things. Samus had to have gotten it from somewhere.

I really like the egg idea. It makes sense that they would consider eggs important and this would finally explain why they have so many statues sitting there holding an important item in their hands inside a round sphere.

How exactly does an entire species get too old to reproduce? I've heard of something like that once before in fiction, specifically the Asgard from Stargate SG 1, but they used cloning for centuries to the point where they could a) no longer sexually reproduce and b) their genetic material was going to soon have so many errors in it through the "copy of a copy of a copy" thing that they were classified as a "dying race." So how did the Chozo get "too old" as a race?

I guess they just stopped reproducing even when they were young enough to, until there were no youngsters left.

And I think it was mainly mentioned in the manga which made several perplexing choices about the Chozo
