@LeGarcon
For the love of all that is good in the world, make sure you scan the Ice Shriekbats when you go to the P. Drifts (look up their location ahead of time) and grab all the Missile Expansion before the Pirate Labs there turn into Blackout Basement.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I think they fixed the Ice Shriekbats in Trilogy.
Hmm, lost as balls in Magmoor Caverns. I keep ending back up in the Chozo Ruins.
Why didn't I pay better attention when I did this on the Gamecube?
Oh really when? No, I'm pretty sure the Ice Shriekbats still disappear.
But scan logs carry over to second playthroughs in the Trilogy version, so you can get them on a future playthrough without having to rescan everything else.
As for free aim during lock-on, I never bothered to turn that off. I find it helpful being able to keep the camera focused on an enemy but still shoot elsewhere, and my aim's good enough that I can still shoot the target.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Got the Ice Shriekbat scan from the Drifts. Saw Ridley do his flyover. Got the Boost Ball.
Can't for the life of me remember what to do next though.
Oh really when?Go back down to Magmoor, then find the elevator to Tallon Overworld.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Thankies, Space Jump Boots get!
Now to go do jumpy things and continue being lost. Should probably look for those artifacts at some point too.
Oh really when?I wish there were a way I could blank my memories on where to go next in Metroid Prime. I want to recapture the first playthrough, having no clue where to go and loving it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Lucky me, my memory is shit enough that I've forgotten nearly everything.
Really though Prime is one of the few games where it's fun to get lost. Bumbling through things and finding stuff is great.
Oh really when?Usually the parts of a metroidvania I remember most are the beginning and the very very end. And I forget the rest of it.
Wave Beam get!
Now to continue being lost.
Oh really when?I'm digging that guy's Other M policy.
It's what I would do if people let me have policies.
But nobody's that dumb. Not even me.
To change the subject again, I remember this idea - don't remember if I got it from Game FAQ's, IGN or whatever - about introducing a secondary, playable bounty hunter with just as much focus as Samus.
That set my brain on fire and I explored the idea myself:
- Knowing of each other's existence through very limited communications, since one is down on a planet, and the other in an orbiting colony.
- The new hunter would focus more on melee, replacing beam upgrades with blades, missiles with shockers and so on.
- And for the finale, they are united by the massive, labyrinthine space-bridge connecting the planet and the colony.
I even have this hunter's arsenal figured out already.
Would stuff done in one area affect the other area?
That might be fun.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah, I forgot that. And it would also be a good reason to introduce another type of room, dedicated to switching over to your acquaintance.
And then unlock Swap Mode after beating it. This is essentially just swapping out scenarios for the two characters.
The Light Crystals on Dark Aether take way too long to heal you.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yeah. I'm running into that problem too. I forgot how tedious the early game of Prime 2 is when you're forced to deal with Dark Aether. Can't wait til I get the dark suit or light beam.

Click Click Boom BoomSuper Missile get!
Man, the whole however many teratons thing isn't just for Zebes, it's for all the planets. Hell Tallon IV is actually heavier.
Oh really when?So here's something that confuses me. Tallon IV's name implies it's the fourth planet of a star named Tallon. However the other planets in the system don't have that name. So where does the name Tallon come from?
The star maybe?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe star probably is indeed just Tallon, with the remaining planets having gotten names for various reasons that Tallon IV never quite got to.
I sure said that!Say, Ridley is the leader of the Space Pirates isn't he? Like yeah there was Mother Brain but she's dead by the time Prime happens.
This one entry regarding his augmentation process and turning into Meta-Ridley makes it sound like he's not the one really in charge.
Oh really when?
I like that one too. The lore entries are one of my favorite additions from the Prime series. They really flesh out the world and the different factions. I hope future non-Prime games keep them.
