Yeah, I knew about mini-Kraid and the little Draygons, hence exempting them from my list. I assumed the mini-Draygons were devouring the corpse.
But I still don't get how any of the other bosses have to do with motherhood. Aside from Mother Brain having the word "mother" in its name. Or if you count the Spore Spawn's, uh, spore spawning, which is not quite the same thing.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!"Also, Samus goes around shooting motherhood in the face"
This is an amazing quote.
...The main bosses are Ridley, Phantoon, Draygon, Kraid, and Mother Brain.
The rest are mini-bosses. Possibly we can ignore them.
Draygon has the babies and/or miniature cannibals. Kraid has his smaller lookalike (apparently named Sclayd). Mother Brain has the word Mother in her name.
Phantoon and Ridley, haven't the foggiest.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, Ridley kidnaps Samus's baby. And there were some ghosts that kept spawning on the ship until Phantoon died. Means nothing, but it's something I guess.
Ridley sounds like Ripley who had a surrogate daughter and fought a female titled alien.
Although he was named after Ridley Scott who was the director of the first Alien movie so I might be reaching.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSpeaking of which, was it ever confirmed if Weavel was supposed to be a similar reference?
...Aaaagh, I keep getting confused between Ridley the space pirate dragon, Ellen Ripley in Aliens played by Sigourney Weaver, Scott Ridley who directed Aliens, and Robert Ripley of Ripleys Believe It Or Not.
...you know, I always thought that Ridley was never a very intimidating name. It sounds like some kind of mean leprechaun.
At least he wasn't named Scott.
"GRAAAAW!"
"Shut up, Scott."

I guess it bears pointing out that the only reason Samus was a surrogate mom for the baby metroid is because she shot motherhood in the face by killing the Queen Metroid and (nearly) all of her babies.
This is a bit of a recurring thing for Samus.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Penn, Teller and Ridley.
PHAZON CORRUPTION IS BULLSHIT
While in the background Teller grows to eleven feet tall and starts throwing the crew around.
<_< I'm kinda afraid of reading that article since it sounds insane from what you guys said, but I do have to agree that you can see that Other M isn't first game to have hints of things in it :P Though main things you can see that from is stuff like Super Metroid japanese trailer
The first Ridley I heard of was a timid puppet on a videotape about learning the alphabet. The skit he was in was about some kind of company board meeting where they were trying out machines that converted the names of letters spoken into physical cutouts of the letters and vice-versa. I still remember the boss's closing line, which would be funny coming from Mother Brain: "Riiiiiiidleyyyyyy! You're in deep... and serious... TROUBLE!"
Later I learned that Gridley is also a name, which could make things confusing...
Oh and I just remembered that Ridley was also the name of the penguin underling of Whoopi Goldberg's character in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie.

Clearly the only way for Miyamoto and Sakamoto to settle their differences is to fight to the death.

^Why are you posting and reading about someone's personal theory about there being internal resentment and competition about same company told in kinda sensational fashion? Can't you just let it go already?
Seriously, that post made me facepalm multiple times. Whats up with this character assassination anyway? Not only is Sakamoto sexist and old fashioned crappy writer, now he also resents the god of gamers Miyamoto. Blergh, and NOTHING should be left in hands of "fans". Thats just stupid fanboy/girl talk... Fans who improve on original work are rare and it has nothing to do with their fandom, its just that those rare inviduals are actually talented..

I consider the individual in question a friend.
Or, at least, an acquaintance.

Doesn't matter, its annoying to see the whole "Sakamoto is the devil" thing over and over and over and over and over and...*takes breath* Seriously, isn't it enough that Other M thread is one of those forever locked thread? Can't the discussion die with it?!
...I think that's something of an exaggeration.
It's perfectly possible to recognize someone's faults without labeling them "the devil".

Hating, or even "just" resenting, Miyamoto is devilish thing

Dunnae. Seems normal. Intercompany rivalries are a thing. You can resent someone without being the devil.
Because the green eyed monster falls below devils in the hierarchy established by the monster manual.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersResenting Miyamoto is like resenting Mr. Rogers Even though I don't actually know who latter is except that he is apparently uber nice guy
Children's show host, loved for never once talking down to or acting condescending towards people.
He got money from congress for PBS by talking very politely to them and singing them a song.
And also testified against banning VCRs or something.

Fake Kraid was the same size as Kraid in the original Metroid so instead of being an offspring he might be Kraid's shrimpier brother who only got a job due to nepotism and was wildly unsuited for it.
