Discuss the Metroid series here.

First off, do you know how awesome Ridley is? 'Cos he is.
Metroid: Other M, Sexism, Sakamoto, discussion goes on for ten pages.

There, that's out of the way.

I'm not usually into FPS... are the Prime games any good?

-prays to God there won't be another Metroid: Other M flame war-

Yeah, I think Ridley's pretty cool, too, especially as Meta-Ridley. In fact, the first fight with him in Metroid Prime 3 is one of my favorite boss fights in the series.
I've only played Fusion.

Yes. Very yes.
I felt sorry for Ridley in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Did you?

The sociopathic, fire-breathing killer dragon from beyond the stars?

...Can't say I did.

This gonna be a Miru thing?

Technically, that was a animate trophy of Ridley. Therefore, technically, he didn't get sucked up into Subspace.

'Sides, he tried to grind Samus into a shiny meat patty. Bastard deserved what he got.
The prime series is awesome. Play it. Really, Metroid Prime is the closest we've ever had to a 3D Super Metroid (Magmoor is Norfair, Tallon Overworld is Brinstar, wrecked Orpheon is wrecked ship/Maridia, etc.). The bosses are some of the most epic in video game history, and the world feels lush and immersive.

As for discussion about the series... If there was to be a Metroid game on the 3DS, should it be first-person, third-person 3D, or a sidescroller? I'd prefer a 2.5D sidescroller.

I'd like a sidescroller with the awesome lore or at least way of presenting lore of the Primes, personally.

I still would've liked to play as Ridley in Brawl, but Charizard is plenty awesome on his own, and I can pretend. Also Samus and Pikachu being BEST FRIENDS FOREVER was far and away my favourite Smash team-up: just the right mix of crack and awesome to work perfectly.
Now Playing: Skyrim
I ship Samus/Pikachu.

Just so you know.
Everybody ships Samus/Pikachu.

What's the alternative? Samus/Adam? Fugeddaboutit.

I don't ship it per se, but then I barely ship anything, and see their relationship as more of a mentor-student kinda thing.

Samus is totes Pikachu's Trainer.
Now Playing: Skyrim
Ridley/Pokemon Trainer FTW.

Crack Foe Yay at it's finest.

[up][up] Very carefully.

...Why am I even thinking about this. D:

To purge my brain: Samus all SRS BZNZ getting a mission briefing with a happy smiling Pikachu on her shoulder. Cutest image y/y?

Now Playing: Skyrim
[up][up]That's really the best way to answer that question.

You know, Crocomire and Yakuza should team up for a buddy cop story. Kraid can be the gruff chief.

[up]....Pikachu for Samus' pet.

This needs to happen. That'd be cuter than a reformed space pirate adopting a kitten with a broken leg.

I DUNNO LOL [up] Who'd Ridley be?

The landlord.
