The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.
Wow. That was rude. Thumped.
Lets see how it turns out before we make judgements. I've already had one earth-shattering revelation tonight.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. It does people good to keep an open mind silver.
And I will read this after I go to bed and have done my museum work. I may have a rant to post about "Authoritarian government".
lol no its an analysis of Julian assange's motivations
WHASSUP....... ....with lolis!@Game Chainsaw: Not so earth-shattering for me, though, because the revelation fit the French government's behavior over the last 150 or so years pretty well.

Silver, this is ON-TOPIC Conversations. If you have nothing to say about the article that is the topic of this thread, go somewhere else to say it.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The author seems to take it for granted that there is a conspiracy.

Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information. The most transparent government IS no government man xD

WHASSUP....... ....with lolis! Not quite so much that as assume that the network of unelected diplomats the US maintains is unhealthy for the people.
I'm not totally against the idea but I'm not totally for it either.
I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1I think that that's an oversimplification. More like he wants to destroy this conspiracy thing, which for obvious reasons most of the government isn't in.

Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Anarchism, boiled down, is simply a position that does not posit that governments and nation states are essential to a well functioning society. Why can't it be intellectually serious?
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.Because when you get rid of nation-states, one of four things must happen:
- Formation of new nation states
- Complete chaos
- Reversion to feudalism
- Reversion to more primitive lifestyle with informal, egalitarian social structure. Such a system cannot support a large population.

Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Really, you get all four at once. And then the new states and feudal societies swallow up the utopian, egalitarian communes, because they can support a large population.
Reaaaaaally? Have other, nonlinear types of social organization been given a fair shake? What about city states on a large scale, or a different mode of behaviour enforcement besides legal systems, or any other number of possibilities?
