I'm still in this.
Still here. (working on a branch)
"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - MediaDecimation (2)
In all the current civilizations made up of evolved, sentient organic life, only one has no system to designate individuals whatsoever. This has given them the appearance of being a hive mind to the others, and renders communication almost impossible. Rumours have spread that this civilization isn't even native to this planet, and without anyone stepping up and disproving this claim, war against them could occur soon. The civilisation itself is aware of the potential conflict only in the terms that these foreign organisms are internally conflicted and dangerous, and are therefore probably rabid. With little way to understand casualties or empathize with the enemy, this civilization has the potential for horrible war crimes.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.Catherine and Dragon Age for the PS 3, plus a ton of University stuff, has decreased the amount of time I spend on the net. Nevertheless, consider me still a part of this.

This has given them the appearance of being a hive mind to the others, and renders communication almost impossible. The incidence of any individuals who try to designate themselves as such is, in fact, taken as a sign of mental illness. However, it is only a matter of time until someone realizes that calling someone mentally ill is a way to designate them. In fact, many of the so called mentally ill have already figured this out, and are collectively laughing behind the backs at the others of their civilization.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableYeah, I haven't been particularly (read: at all) active on the forum over the summer (and, really, not likely to be so with college starting either), but I'll provide some input when I get a message. Sorry.

In all the current civilizations made up of evolved, sentient organic life, only one has no system to designate individuals whatsoever. These creatures have begun placing small dots on their foreheads in various shapes, colors, and sizes as means of identifying clans. The clans are viewed of as organisms of their own, their members like cells. A strict "class system" of sorts exists between the members of each clan, assigning specific jobs to each, all for the sake of maintaining the clan. Ytani missionaries have attempted to impress upon these people the importance of individualism, but with little success due to fundamental linguistic differences.
Ooh, now I get to seed!

Members that are given unsavoury jobs such as "septic tank cleaner" or "child producer" are occasionally seen fleeing from their homeland at night with the hope that they can be accepted by neighbouring civilizations, and they always are.
Let's Try That Again (1)
In this world, there are no insects whatsoever. After a devastating insect-spread plague wiped out most of the dominant sentient species, the survivors sprayed the planet's single continent with re-engineered pesticides. These pesticides, however, gave humans superpowers. These superpowered beings now struggle over the scraps of a world deprived of a key part of the biosphere. A cure to the plague has long ago been synthesized, and the survivors hope desperately for the birth of a time traveller to undo what's happened to their world.
Only a few people seem to be posting. Noa, if you feel like it, why don't you try sending a PM to everyone on the list asking if they're still active? Then maybe put a star by the name of everyone who's responded so far.
