"Tone matters" say the people trying to imply that a rapist isn't getting a fair shake.
Seriously, is there anything more emblematic of sexism than people tone policing a female judge while complaining about how a rapist is entitled to presumption of innocence?

Doing all that via reddit?
And yeah Assange lost the right for me to not call him a rapist when he fled the law when being investigated for rape.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranAlledged rapist. You're doing the same thing, tone policing to be guilty until proven innocent.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursOkay, so you don't know what tone policing is. Good to know.
But please, continue to demand women be nice to rapists.
Not a fan of the tone of the exchanges going on in this thread, myself.
Step back.

I'm curious to know, let me see if I have this right, I'm curious about what Snopes said. Hillary was apparently actually thinking of a drone strike on Sweden to uphold Britain's honor.
If true would that not be considered a act of war? What would it achieve?
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursYou know I was going to respond to this, but I'm not sure there's anything to say. We've moved beyond conspiracy theory and into outright denial of reality here. Are you really saying that you believe that Clinton was going to drone strike Sweden to get rid of Assange?

According to Snopes it's unconfirmed but to me that sounds too mad to credit if it was Trump to say nothing of Hillary. I was just curious as to the reasoning how the logic of such an idea fits.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursThere is no logic to it and it doesn't fit. Nobody would do that. Someone took a joke that Clinton made and decided to turn it into a plot against Assange. Because that's what you do when you're trying to defend someone like Assange—you have to turn his opponents into caricatured monsters.
Oh boy, someone actually thinks that "drone strike" crap was a serious plot to assassinate someone hiding out in an embassy in the UK?
It's just another example of HRC hate hysteria.

Disgusted, but not surprisedClearly, the solution is to get it done over the Atlantic then.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotFor people feeding I feel I should explain this, Hillary while at a White House meeting said something along the lines of “can’t we just drone him?” non-seriously. The same way that my colleague and I weren’t being serious when I said I’d murder other members of staff and they said they’d be my alibi.
It’s stress based venting in a humours fashion, not a serious plot to do anything.
Shit Obama made a joke about droning some pop stars if they went near his daughters, even if you think it’s poor humour it’s clearly not serious.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranAbout the judge: male, female or intersex, no British judge is going to be all that thrilled when faced with a definite case of a publicity hound of an attempted runner. They defend the rule of law these bozos try to scoot around while loudly calling attention to this "cleverness"— you bet sharp things will get said!
They've got hundreds of years of precedence on this particular topic (see the case of John Law — witty Scottish and English judges got some verbals going because of his border-skipping and publishing shenanigans): they are allowed to get snarky.
They're also allowed to show the collective intent to throw the book at dodgers, too. It's intended to encourage other people to operate within the system, rather than do a runner.

The embassy once again got rid of his internet access due to questioning May’s decision to expel Russian diplomats.
At this point Assange might as well just outright admit he's a Kremlin stooge.
Disgusted, but not surprisedJulian Assange is now #StuckInAnEmbassy without Wifi.
This is beautiful.
Apparently, a certain somebody hoped to get a Russian visa not so long ago...
Hands up anybody who is even a little surprised... <sits on hands>

What the Russian stooge wanted the full benefit of his handlers? Who would have thought it.
Who watches the watchmen?Oh it gets better. Apparently, the Russians were working on a now abandoned plan to smuggle him out of the country to Russia. If anyone doesn't think this guy is a Russian stooge by now I would be amazed. Snowden fled there out of stupid desperation and is now stuck there. Assange though has likely been working for them for some time. The regular reports of his behaviours and attitudes from insiders have hinted this guy was never what he claimed to be.
Who watches the watchmen?I certainly don't feel like dying on the hill of Assange's defense but I should point out being sealed in an embassy for a decade because someone wants to put me on trial in a country that will deport me to a nation which was torturing and imprisoning political prisoners—I might be inclined to seek anywhere where I wouldn't be under house arrest either.
Even if yes he's a manifestly different sort of person than Snowden.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. He was not sealed in an embassy. He was hiding there.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAlso Sweden wouldn’t deport him to the US, the entire suggestion is a figment of his paranoia, it’s has no basis in reality.

The sexual assault trial would have happened in Sweden, had Assange not broke British law and ran. And presumption of innocence is for judicial procedures, no one here (or at I) was calling for punishment to occur before conviction.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.
