True, but I was talking about the name in the title specifically. Obviously, it wouldn't count due to that part, but I'm saying I'm quite lax on names even if the exact name isn't spelled perfectly. That's all.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.How about a new challenge?
Your allowed 20 reps, however, everyone who's in must also have one other from their franchise with them.

A worse one would be 20 characters, but they all have to have at least one prominent appearance outside their video game, and that version will be featured in the game. And with prominent I mean either main or recurring character. Also, they don't have to debut in a game at all.
Signatures are for lamers. My challenge roster (I'm assuming I did this right):
- Mario
- Luigi
- Peach
- Yoshi
- Link
- Donkey Kong
- Pikachu
- Fox
- Sonic
- Villager
- Wii Fit Trainer
- Mega Man
- Samus
- Pit
- Sonic
- Lip
- Little Mac
- Tingle
- Isaac

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSI have a challenge as well. Twenty character roster, and they all have to be from the same franchise.
Your Honor...@Midna: For Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi, one of those has to be removed. They're all considered part of the Mario universe for the purposes of the challenge. Everything else is fine, though. They fit the other criteria, but it's up to 3 from that universe.(Donkey Kong is a separate universe for the purpose of the challenge, of course)
@Gary: Too easy.
@Musik: Eh, that's only 10 franchises max. Seems like it doesn't allow enough diversity and also makes some franchises unchooseable.(like Ice Climbers)

People spend lots of time theorizing about characters the developers might include, but do they theorize about what gameplay mechanics could be included? I, for one, hope that several techniques from Melee - such as Smooth Landing, hitstun, or (unlikely as it is to happen) wavedashing - make a return appearance. Not because I want to be able to use them (I have a terrible reaction speed), but because it would mean slightly less competitive players who say Melee was the only good game.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Wait, what's Smooth Landing?
And I want Melee's Hitstun back. It was justtttt right.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I don't want as much hitstun as Melee. Brawl had too little, perhaps, but I don't want a combo-oriented game. Some would be okay, though.
Wavedashing should not return, though. It was not intended to be used that way, and it creates a very pointless Fake Skill.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Also, the first two games were very combo-orientated. Only Brawl got rid of the combos. I don't see how they aren't a naturally reasonable part of the series now. Especially when the first two games used them.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Smooth Landing is the official term for l-canceling, hitting the shield button right before landing to reduce lag. The term was used in an old, Japan-only website. I should have went with "lag-canceling".
Actually, wavedashing was an unintentional feature. In the interview, the person said that it was done by accident and discovered during the development process, though they decided to leave it in. Of course, this depends on how one defines "intentional".

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Combos stop the one being attacked from doing anything. Anything that takes that much control away shouldn't be encouraged. I'm fine with a few 2-move combos or something, but making combos the focus ignores all the options Smash offers that other fighters don't.
Smooth landing/L-canceling isn't something that should even be a technique, since it's about keeping something from happening rather than doing something new. Just automatically excise most of the lag.

I sure said that!I just hope it won't be like Melee where playing a match was like DDR for your fingers.
I swear, Melee is why the pad on my joystick is missing. I'm glad they're striking a balance between the playstyles.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaWavedashing was just meant as an animation for what happens when you diagonally dodge into the ground, because just thudding would look weird. They didn't expect nor intend for it to become a staple tactic, sliding around everywhere.
Generally, if the ideal method of locomotion ISN'T the actual intended method (Walking/running), then something has gone wrong. It's why many games attempt to fix the issue of bunny hopping (When it's faster to jump repeatedly along a path than to just run it).
And I was saying that I liked Brawl's de-emphasis on combos. I hope For isn't as combo-oriented as 64 or Melee. Pulse put it well; taking away control from the victim is bad, though a few 2-hit combos or so are fine.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Combos are a part of all Fighters. I see no reason to make them gone again. That was honestly one thing that bored me to death about Brawl. I'm okay with making them a little harder to perform, or easier to get out of. But the nonexistance in Brawl was honestly a travesty.
Also, I only knew it as L-Cancelling and Z-Cancelling. Namely due to buttons used.
Read the edit above. You're wrong about Wavedashing's intentions entirely. And yes, Melee and 64 have combos, and bringing them back is hardly a bad thing. 64 made it easy enough to get away anyway, so it should go back to that. Not too much, not too little.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. They weren't originally part of fighting games, they were actually an Ascended Glitch.
Regardless, just because they're a staple in most fighting games doesn't mean that I like them, or that they're even good. I don't like most fighting games due to their overemphasis on combos, and liked Brawl for being different in that regard.
My point still stands, though. An awkward rabid-animal-with-a-broken-leg slide everywhere should not be the primary form of locomotion, regular running should. If wavedashing for extra speed is so important, the solution is to just increase everyone's running speed a little, not put back in wavedashing (Though I feel running speed is fine as is).

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Snake Eater is the name of the mission. The playable character there is Naked Snake, the man who would one day become Big Boss.
I sure said that!
