Brawl also claims that Kanden, the immortal, unkillable science experiment alien bounty hunter was not "invincible," which was the goal of the project that birthed him, but instead that he was "invisible."

Same difference. At most, stop calling Duck Hunt: Duck Hunt Duo. It's stupid.

"Ice Climbers" is already plural though. No need to add a word to indicate multiple.

Technically they're called Ice Climber in Japanese (based on the game name). So I guess they applied the same logic to Duck Hunt.

In Japan too, Olimar is Pikmin and Olimar.

I never found the name "Duck Hunt Duo" that weird. People say its wrong because some moves involve the unseen gunman, but for example Pac-Man also features the ghosts as part of his moveset and nobody says he should be renamed to "Pac-Man & Ghost's" because of that.

Pac-Man isn't a Tag Team fighter like the Ice Climbers, Duck Hunt, Banjo & Kazooie, Pyra & Mythra, Rosalina & Luma; most of Pac-Man's moveset are just retro Bandai Namco references.

And the dog and duck are the ones that are actually physically present like other tag team fighters, while the gunner only gets involved for certain specific moves.

So I dont think it is weird to call them a "duo".

I would point to Pokemon Trainer as an example of character that is definitely part of a unit while not being down in the trenches.

I'd argue Duck Hunt is kind of the reverse of that, the gunman is shooting from the foreground taking direction from the dog and the dug.

In fairness, the fact that the gunman is unseen can make them easy to forget.

So I was messing around with spirit fights and did the Jeff fight. I cheesed it with Ness and two strong throw spirits and forward throw them off the left side of the stage. I was surprised how that defeated them so easily. So then I did the fight with a weaker spirit and same thing. Then I used a level 1 spirit and still won, got 5000 spirit points. That was crazy.

Could that be considered for a leveling trope like Peninsula Of Power?

Even Palutena makes note of an "unseen fighter".

...so is Duck Hunt the closest we get for a fourth wall fighter or is that fourth wall different from ours?

Back in the Smash 4 days, I liked to think that Snake was Duck Hunt's secret gunner. That way he was still included in the fun, even if he wasn't directly playable.

Speaking of Duck Hunt, they're another character whose Smash 4 render looks nicer than their Ultimate render.
