Don't get me wrong, I love that game too, but it's not really much more than a footnote, aside from being one of the first major Panel de Pon licensed variants. And dear Lord that cylinder variant, I don't think I can even process it now.

One thing that grated on me, though, was the taunts the NPCs gave whenever they did anything. Especially Richie's and Giovanni's. Yes, I get it, the world will be yours and I'm wasting your time, now stop wasting mine.

The taunts are the best part about it to me. World of Ham combined with tauntspam made every match hilarious. Especially when they'd get combined. "You're wasting- The world (will be mine)!" Who would have thought Giovanni was so eco-conscious?

And cylinder-mode wasn't too difficult for me, but I prefer 2D simply because it's easier to work with 7 columns rather than however many are in that mode.

I think the best chain I ever got was a x12 or something. I got really good at making chains, I remember.

Eh, the taunts are amusing at first, but they get so obnoxious, especially when they just keep repeating over and over and over and... Honestly, Baby Mario never even annoyed me as much.

Personally, I was always better at the GBC version (Pokemon Puzzle Challenge) than the N64 version, mostly because of the easier control scheme thanks to the D-pad and the buttons not being so wide apart. In hindsight, the N64's controller was really awkward to use.

I did love the custom mode in the N64 version, though. I always used to make automatic ones that would fill up the screen. It kept me amused for a while [lol]

I'd make ones that would glitch up Lorelei's speech clips. It sounded pretty funny.

Have there been mods to increase the roster size of Brawl instead of having to replace the characters? I've been looking for one of those.

I'm not sure that's possible.

I'm not saying it's impossible, either, but I think the way the coding works wouldn't allow for it.

I sure said that!

Anyway, I do actually want to see Mii's in there, although I can understand if they're not added in cause they don't really fight(Boxing doesn't count?). Or they're not particularly violent. However, I would love to use them as a "custom character" thing. Alternatively, Primids are the next best choice.

Miis are certainly posiible... what would be cool is a different move-set based off their shirt color... or you could just make them a humanoid kirby wearing suits instead of just hats.

[up]Shirt color would be a good basis since Find Mii had different elemental attacks for every shirt color.

[up]Its actually where I got the idea from. IT would be cool if hats carry over. We could have a fat guy wearing an epona hat while beating link up.

So apparently the fans have made a balance patch for Melee now. I'm sure this took quite a bit of work because the GCN isn't is as readily hackable as the Wii is. The installation is also miles more complicated. Nevertheless, it does look pretty good, seeing as how they've made Melee even more competitively viable than it was before.

So why couldn't it work with the Action Replay?

[up]I'm pretty sure the Action Replay wouldn't be able to make all the precise changes they did with this patch.

Or there's too much coding for it.

[up]Well, it did take them over 10 years to make anything of this sort. I wonder if this patch will have its own tournaments, since it would be interesting to see everyone adapting to it like with Brawl+, Balanced Brawl, and Project M.

There's few Wii tournaments for those things since they're an actual pain in the butt to do.

I don't see it having much popularity. Contrary to what people think, the actual popularity of those is a lot, but there's very few modded Tournaments, especially advertised ones for the Wii, since they're actually illegal.

There are still tournaments out there, though. They're just remaining out of sight because, well, you know. They're probably local stuff rather than big-name tournaments like EVO or something.

I wonder if they'll be willing to make official DLC balance patches for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games.

Good god, please no. I don't mind them going for some sort of balance when they're making it, but it isn't a real fighting game. It doesn't need friggin' balance patches.

Well, that's not entirely true. Smash may be more of a party game than a fighting game, but it still involves competition - and every game should be adequately balanced anyway.

There really shouldn't be a problem with giving this game a balance tweak, since that's always been kind of a problem with this series (though to be honest the only mods I really have problem with are the "make Brawl like Melee" mods).

They might make them. There was talk about DLC in general. If they screw up the first time(this happens) a patch fixes it.

It's the usual solution to all fighting games. Smash has yet to get this, but hey, it's a fighting game and could.

But I really doubt it'll be screwed up that much to do so. None have gotten that far.(close perhaps) I do believe they did make some literal mistakes in Brawl, or atleast one with one of Ganondorf's hitboxes. But other than that, none I can think of.

Well, patching beyond just basic "This character/stage/item has something about them/it super over/underpowered to the point of unfairness or no fun, so it needs to be changed" situations. There probably won't be anything of that sort, though.

Patching just for the sake of it, however, would be off-putting to me.

I doubt a balance patch would do anything to the stages or items, since inevitably that would defeat the purpose of the stages and items in the first place. Except for certain cases (like the Fan).
