Marth and Lucario have both been consistent mains of mine since Brawl.

My 64 main was Jigglypuff, for what little I played of that game. I didn't own an N64, so I only played at friends' houses. I switched to Pikachu about halfway through Melee's lifespan, and stuck with him through Brawl. Robin's my main in Smash 4, but Pikachu's still one of my top characters.

Link's been one of my mains since Melee back in the day.

i have an emulator that I use to play the original Smash Bros. but he isn't as good there as he is in later games.

Falcon's been a main of mine all the way from 64.

Fox and Falcon tend to be the most consistent mains for me since 64.

Throughout the series, Pikachu has been my main, and I didn't start branching out until 4, where Shulk surpassed Pikachu as my top main. Now my big three are Shulk, Pikachu, and Palutena.

I sort of mained Yoshi in Melee, but since then I rotate through characters too often to really have a main. If I had to guess I'd say that I play Luigi more than any other character.

Ness was my boi in 64, tried to keep up with him in Melee, but he was ass, so I went Marth, with a dash of Falcon. In Brawl I gelled better with Lucas than Ness, but I was really glad that I could go back to him in Smash 4, even though I'm currently an Ike main.

I don't know how people can say someone like Link sucked in Brawl or whatever. He plays fine and if you're aware of the changes each game brings you can plan accordingly.

I've never had as much of a problem as others have had when it comes to things like this. I just learn their new moves and any adjustments they make and adapt it into my play-style

I can't tell you how many KO's Link's new charged Spin Attack got me. .

It's because of the tier list

Link sucked because, from a competitive standpoint, almost every character had an advantage over Link due to endlag/starting lag/percent dealt/etc

You can only make up for so much before the character itself just can't hold up to higher level play

Ah. Given that I couldn't care less for 'high level' play, it's no wonder I never noticed it.

I can play as anyone but I'm most comfortable as Kirby, Yoshi, Bowser, and Ganondorf.

Water Master: It's also why you hear stuff like Kirby being awful in Melee, or Link being terrible in Brawl and 64, or Samus sucking in every game but Melee, or Ganondorf being awful in Brawl. On the flipside, it's also why you'd probably hear stuff about Pikachu, Kirby, Fox, Falco, Sheik, Marth, Ice Climbers, Meta Knight, Snake, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, and Cloud being OP characters in at least one entry in the series.

Din't play 64. Zelda was my girl in Melee and Brawl, and I play her a lot still in 3DS. But I can't say no to Corrin. He's a dragon!

Tbh even looking from a casual standpoint Melee Kirby sucks.

He's the one character in a smash game I refuse to play due to how unfun he is.

Never had a consistent main through the series. Started with Kirby in 64, then went with Lucario in Brawl, and now in Wii U I go with Shulk.

Had Kirby in 64 and Yoshi and Meta Knight (before he was banned from all the tournaments) in Brawl, and currently have King Dedede in 4. So, no, no consistent main, not even within 4.

So, out of curiosity, I tried out a battle against CPU's on the Miiverse stage. It wasn't quite the constant stream of crudely drawn dicks I was fearing. There was a message simply reading "Suck it, Shulk", but that was the worst of it that I saw. Then again, I may have just gotten lucky. After the match, I made a comment of my own. It was a crudely drawn Reyn saying "Man, what a bunch of jokers!"

I've seen exceptionally good matches on Miiverse and exceptionally bad matches, though I've noticed there seems to be some kind of dick magnetism in play- It has to be a coincidence, but if I see one wiener I see a dozen.

If you are playing on Miiverse nowadays, 20% of posts are dicks, 30% are "[character] sucks", and 50% are out-of-place Undertale references. If playing as Ness, bump the latter up to 90% and reduce the other two accordingly. If playing as Zero Suit Samus or Bayonetta, wedge a 50% sexualized drawings in there and reduce the other proportions accordingly. If playing as Captain Falcon, it's 60% Falcon Punch drawings or other memetic flair, 20% illegible scribbles, and 20% by proportion of the original categories.

ALL of these rules get thrown out if you play as Donkey Kong, though. Then you achieve 100% expansion.

No, not just ZSS and Bayonetta- It's any female character besides Villager. Even her, a little.

It happens most prominently with ZSS and Bayo, though. Also seen some as Shulk and Link, as far as dudes go.

Oh, and Wario, but any drawing of Wario is sexual in content by default.

Naturally, I can also tell you that my mains- R.O.B., Mr. Game & Watch and Duck Hunt- Are by far the most abused on Miiverse. I didn't mean to like how those three play, it just kinda happened that I gelled well with the three characters twelve year olds are most likely to not understand at all.

Yeah, I've noticed that people really hate the retro characters. Either they don't know them so they don't like them, or they just don't like them.

They need to vent their biases.
