[up][up]Messed up my terms there. I actually meant a ledge attack.

Plenty of characters have kill-worthy recovery moves. Luigi, Peach, Sheik, Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Meta Knight, Ness, and Shulk all pack quite a punch.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

Donkey Kong has an amazing ledge attack.

Incidentally, I just discovered I'm actually decent with DK.

I like DK. He seems improved this game- Bigger, tougher. Stronger, too.

I sure said that!

... Ahh, you're right.

... Ah, well. Point is, DK feels pretty good to play as. Stronger as Bowser, fast as Mario, even a decent jumper and air fighter. Poor vertical recovery from Spinning Kong, but it covers a huge horizontal range. He's got a fair bit of reach, too, thanks to his tree-trunk arms.

With lots of hitstun and aerial lag... he's got some issues. A giant hitbox doesn't work to his favor either...

DK is probably the most viable of the heavy characters in this game at least.

Still, he's got stuff going for him.

He's not, say, Ganondorf, whose good points are raw power and raw power with a side order of raw power and no reach or speed or anything to actually let him use it effectively.

When Bowser is more mobile and more flexible both with attacks and in general than you, you've got problems.

I sure said that!

I do wish they'd give Ganondorf some agility buffs some time. He really needs something.

Out of all of the heavies, I think that the most viable is Bowser. He's got decent balance as far as heavies go.
In terms of Ganon, he's got moves like his Side-B and the "Ganon Grope" to add to his arsenal. Plus hard reads are extremely favorable due to his raw power.
DK needs lots of patience to get things done.

I prefer Bowser when it comes to the heavy characters, too. He's actually one of my secondaries in 4.

[up][up]DK is a lot better at pushing offensives the rare times he's given the chance, at least. Bowser and Ganondorf are both more like dodge-and-punish types, except Bowser can sneak in some love taps in between whereas Ganondorf can breath and wish the player would pop in Hyrule Warriors so he can get a better showing in.

I sure said that!

Honestly, I'm still disappointed in the moves they chose for Ganondorf, and how Falcondorf is still a thing. You have one of the company's oldest characters, with a powerful and diverse moveset, and you make him a derivative of a racing game character who himself is derivative of a generic brawler from before the series started.

I like Captain Falcon, but come on.

I actually quite like Falcondorf. I was a bit annoyed in Melee, but by Brawl, I'd gotten used to it and he ended up becoming my main, tier lists be damned. Of course, I switched to Shulk in 4.

I really enjoy Shulk a lot more after having played Xenoblade proper. Though I can't help but feel that his current Monado Buster should've been Monado Enchant, and Monado Smash should've been Monado Buster in turn- Buster being, in the source game, more or less meant as a super Back Slash and a finishing blow, while Enchant gave a small power boost to the whole party and allowed regular weapons to pierce Mechon armor. Can't blame them for inventing Monado Jump, though- Forcing Purge into that slot just wouldn't work, no matter how hard you tried.

I sure said that!

Yeah, Sm4sh!Buster is more accurately Enchant. Shulk does use XBC!Buster as the final hit of his Final Smash, though.

Been watching videos of Mortal Kombat, and now I'm imagining Smashers as Kombatants.

Anyone who's played, how does this sound...

  • Mario-Liu Kang
  • Luigi-Kung Lao
  • Peach-Kitana
  • Link-Scorpion
  • Samus-Kano
  • Yoshi-Reptile
  • Kirby-Shang Tsun (;p)
  • Fox-Sonya Blade XD
  • Pikachu-Raiden
  • Captain Falcon-Johnny Cage
  • Ness-...Ferra.
  • Marth-Kenshi
  • Bowser-Goro
  • Ganondorf-Shao Kahn
  • Zelda-Mileena (kind of weird, but against Peach...)
  • Ice Climbers-Sub-Zero
  • Mewtwo-Ermac

I've only looked at the latest two games so I don't know many, but how's that look?

The latest two games are a reboot series, you don't have to look back at the older ones for lore at this point. tongue

Also I'd consider Ganondorf more of a Jax myself, might just be the chokeslams.

Also Jigglypuff is totally Baraka.

Would Lucina share Kenshi with Marth? Who would Shulk, Pit, and Dark Pit be?

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!
