I'm probably one of the very few people who are utterly indifferent about whether or not Ridley is a playable character. It wasn't hard for me to accept that he's never going to be in the game, but if he does eventually get in, so be it.

I think it's dumb when people complain about a character's presence anyway. Clones are inoffensive at best and just there at worst.

I'd slightly disagree with that- Dark Pit is still throwing the numbers kinda off. It's a surprising move from the usually fairly self-aware Sakurai to so thoroughly feature characters from one of his own games when he also is cutting characters from Mother and Star Fox.

Not saying Dark Pit is in the way of a better character or anything, I just think another series should've gotten the minimal-effort clone.

As for Ridley... Well, it mostly comes from him being by far the most notable figure from Metroid aside from Samus herself, and Metroid fans have been having a bit of a rough time of it ever since Other M.

Ridley was that boss in the Subspace Emissary that you fought twice in two different forms.

Ridley is now a stage hazard on the Pyrosphere stage in Smash for Wii U and beating him counts for a KO in timed matches, so he IS a fighter, but just not one you can directly control.

Because he's too big not like Giga Bowser who got to be made into a Final Smash.

And whose Final Smash would Ridley be, Zero Suit Samus'?

Adding Ridley as a playable character would give Metroid a much needed second representive (Zero Suit Samus is just Samus without her suit).

I'm still holding out for K. Rool as a villain before Ridley, and I'm holding out for Dixie Kong as a third DK rep before K. Rool.

Ghirahim, as much as I love him, has only been in one game (two if you count Hyrule Warriors). I feel like he's not really relevant enough to be made into a playable smasher — at least, not right now. Maybe if he shows up in more games.

Wii Fit Trainer isn't that weird. She's one half of the focus of a popular exercise game.

Weird as a character would have been the Wii Fit Balance Board.

Well, Wii Fit Trainer is from her own series, where as Zelda has a good amount of representation as is. I'd expect Impa or Beast Ganon before Ghirahim.

I'm still a bit annoyed they didn't replace Sheik with Impa.

I'm more annoyed they haven't put Sheik in another Zelda game.

Unless you count Hyrule Warriors.

I feel like they're avoiding it because everybody would spot that twist coming a mile away. That's what happened with Hyrule Warriors. Unless they were willing to make Sheik an entirely separate character there's no point.

I'm pretty sure it's a case of It Was His Sled by this point.

It's pretty much been that since Melee came out...

I'd rather they'd have replaced Sheik's model with Impa. Keep Sheik's moveset unless you can give Impa a different moveset.

We do, actually. Problem being that there apparently hasn't been anything directly newsworthy about it since the roster expansion leaks, and this is a far easier thread to wantonly throw stuff into anyway.

You can get Project M working through the Wii mode apparently. Just make sure to put the SD card in after you boot up Wii mode.

Yeah, the Wii U basically has a Wii built into it, security holes and all.

Fucking hell, I hate online sometimes.

I didn't realize it my first match, but in my second FFA I noticed none of the three other guys I was fighting were doing anything to each other. Every single one of them went only for me. I played one more match in spite of my better judgement, and I just stood there. Even then, they would still only attack me.

EDIT: Moon, your matches with Sheik were tense. I had no idea who would win that last match between you. I have to say though, I call bullshit on the first match when you lost a stock almost immediately. The Shiek player should have SD'd or something, because that was cheap as fuck. I'm amazed you still managed to make that match close though.

To be fair it was even considering Sheik also commited a SD in the second match, plus I can't blame anyone but myself for killing myself like that.

Also I just did a write-up on Greninja's Shifting Shuriken custom and my god, that move is so ridiculous.

Happened to you too, huh? Last time that crap happened, I kept at it until I came in first place and showed them what's what.

See, it's assholes like that that need to be banned from online matches, if they're excessively targeting one person like that.
