[up][up]Not really. Depending on the situation a character at higher percent could be worse off since the higher knockback would make it would make it more difficult to chain moves to rake up damage. Though characters with high survivability and power (like Bowser) would certainly benefit from this.

This actually seems really neat. This'll also help competetive play by making it a game between being defensive to increase survivability, or be offensive to get a kill on the opponent. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Should be about an hour and a half from now.

Pressing A a split second before tilting is more likely to trigger a Smash. Doing the opposite gives you a tilt.

That should probably help. I'll try it out next time.

Shouldn't it be closer to 20 minutes from now? It's 10:40 Central Time, so it's 8:40 Pacific Time.

Not a few days into Smash 4 releasing and seemingly every new discovered mechanic could potentially ruin the game apparently. /sarcasm

The demo really isn't that great anyway, unless you're an old Mario, Link, or Pikachu main, or are REALLY curious about Megaman and Villager.

I only say this from experience from other fighting games. Comeback mechanics are a really bad thing because it does more to reward the losing player than benefit the winning player, encouraging sloppy gameplay. I guess it's a bit of a different beast in Smash and it's not a deal breaker, but this looks like it can get real ugly.

SPECULATION: Is it the same Pikachu in every Smash Bros, or do they catch a new one for each?

I don't think this comeback mechanic is nearly as bad as others like X-Factor. It only increases knockback, not damage, so if a player is still at low percentage when the opponent reaches 100% it won't matter as much and might even be a problem because higher knockback makes combos more difficult.

Though there's a comment in that video saying that combos aren't actually a thing so I'm not sure what to think anymore.

[up][up]There's one video made by someone called Zero who shows how Mario can deal over 60% damage in just one combo, so that claim is questionable.

Now only R button is shield and dodge and L is throw...and I'm not used to using the control stick for jumping.

I can't download the demo because my 3DS is basically full right now and there are some games there I'm not willing to delete. Maybe if I could get my hands on an SD card, I would.

[up][up][up]Most of the ones shown generally require loops and/or outright predictions, so not quite.

I'm gonna have to relearn the controls a little myself, but Smash 3DS handles smooth as butter- It's one thing to see videos, but you never really know until you try controlling it yourself.

Mario, Link and Pikachu fight mostly the same. Think I'm gonna focus on Megaman and Villager...there's something so...Mr Game and Watch about both of them.

Mega Man is such a weird beast compared to everyone else.

Link is easily the most improved veteran of the three playable, though Mario is noticeably better, too.
