Well, he said the gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so it may be from around the middle instead.
That's not what I meant...
I meant that around the center of the stage the gravity works pretty normal, and the gravity gimmick only appears around the edges where it gets more diagonal.
I was hoping for a Galaxy stage to have gravity where you could walk up certain walls and stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMHuh. I just saw the second image. Weird. And I didn't see it beforehand when I replied.
Also, he might only be showing more images on Miiverse.
The quote of the second image goes:
So, wait, what? What do you mean with it only works on the edges? It's not what he's saying here at all about standing on the edge.
Actually, until we see gameplay we won't be sure how the stage will work exactly. For all we know gravity really does come from the center of the stage like in Super Mario Galaxy.
TL;DR: The first part of that sentence does not indicate it will only work on the edges, it only demonstrates to make it more clear.

Signatures are for lamers.@27326: it IS one lf the planets from the game. It's the Gateway Galaxy, with cameos from other planetoids, airships, and the Faceship.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaYou don't get what I'm saying. The planet's gravity range is based on the center of the planet. The stage's curve is that great.
Therefore, what I'm saying is we aren't getting some full-on wall-walking, roof-walking gravity thing.
I have all 242 Power Stars on Super Mario Galaxy. I know what the Gateway Galaxy planet looks like. This planet is not that planet, it just takes inspiration from it.
That round garden in the bottom left corner for example, is not present on the planet in-game. Heck, it's lifted from that garden at the bottom of Starship Mario. Neither are those trees present either. The house is different. And Gateway Galaxy's planet is much smaller.
If anything, it's inspired by Gateway Galaxy. Here's a picture for comparison.◊

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMFUCKING YES!!! We have a Galaxy stage, and with planetary gravity! I hoped it would happen, but I didn't actually think they'd bother with the gravity.
You ask me what stage caused Fandom Rejoice from me, I say it's Mario Galaxy!
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Roof walking gravity is just silly, though. No way they'd do that. Don't you know how many problems this would cause, especially when dealing with horizontal movement in combination with the gravity? Add on top of that the fact that all attacks should now be vertical launchers.
Signatures are for lamers. If it was simply a circular planet, it'd have 360 gravity. Not as hard as it would be. It's not like I was asking for Rightside Down Galaxy or anything.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyM...arguments over whether it's Gateway Galaxy or not aside, I'm pretty happy about this too.So happy that I'm not in a debate mood right now.
This goes without saying, but hot dang that's pretty.
EDIT: Yeah, you're right. It's vaguely Gateway Galaxy. In fact, Mr. Sakurai already revealed the name:

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaTo me, it looks like Gateway Galaxy but with that bit of remodeling needed to make it suitable for the needs of a Smash Bros. stage they give to all the other "on-location" stages like Delfino Plaza, Bridge of Eldin and presumably Skyloft.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Wolf's reactions help.
Looking at the stage closer, does it look like Starship Mario might be another "section" of the stage to you?
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!I just think that a Galaxy stage shouldn't be a walk-off stage. It could possibly be a scrolling stage that rotates around the planet. I dunno.
It is indeed pretty though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMYeah, I can't see that comic due to some fucking retarded .htaccess settings on Awkward Zombie, which causes random visitors to never be able to visit the site at all due to constant 403 errors.
And no, that's not the way to bypass spammers and D Do S attacks.
Signatures are for lamers.Wolf is flying by, hits Marth... who keeps flying, and flying, and flying...
Oh, and Wolf actually wags his tail while sitting down, laughing.
The hilarious part is where Awkward Zombie says "And this is why they scrapped the Super Mario Galaxy stage".
So I just saw the images for the Galaxy stage...
Rosalina confirmed
EDIT: Someone on Neogaf has noted that they removed the challenger approaching banner.
HMMMMM

They tend to do that a week or so after a character is revealed.

Another shot from Mario Galaxy.◊
"Here’s what happens when you stand by the edges. Vertical jumps and getting hit upward will shoot you up diagonally."
Gravity's gonna be a pain to maneuver around. But it looks nice.
Vote. .#Bayonetta 4 SmashI get that you disagree. I don't get your point, I don't agree. Two versions means far more content split between two games and making us pay for both instead of getting a full package is not ideal.
I get that your opinion is different okay? But you always need to have a say on my opinion. It feels like I can't say freakin' anything in this thread without people hounding me.
Not to mention there were two people who said the same thing I did yet conveniently decided not to help when I was under fire for having the same opinion as them.
The gravity doesn't look like it's gonna make things that much complicated, considering the curvature of it isn't that large.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThe reason many of us have stopped replying is that we clearly don't agree and there's no need to continue it. It's basically a shitstorm that dies once somebody stops.
It's why I'm saying I respect your opinion without having to agree with it.
And to clarify, I see your point too. I get the game might feel bigger if it's only the Wii U. But having two games does literally meant more content. Just not as much as if it were one game. Both are correct points in their own way. I think having more versions helps for people who don't want both systems. Not everybody can afford a Wii U or 3DS in every country. We've had economy problems. So by having two versions, those can get whichever strikes their fancy. I had planned to buy both, than the "barely any money era" hit for me. Now I can't. I have to stick with the 3DS. I don't know if any is in that situation as well.
So it's my personal opinion due to my current experience. I think less are screwed over if there's two versions. Losing one character when we'll easily have as much if not more content than Brawl doesn't seem like a giant loss to me. YMMV, respectively.
Yes. Yes, this stage is what I want.
I have a message from another time...
Yay, they're showing off the Galaxy stage.
Actually, it's not as cool as I imagined it would be. I was kinda expecting it be set on one of the planets from the actual game. And it appears the gravity effect is only on the edges of the stage.
Also, where'd the second image of it come from? The one with Mario, Bowser, Peach and Pikachu?
