Most folks who don't practice it also seem singularly unwilling to discuss it seriously and there are far too many who revel in any opportunity to bash the people who do believe in it.

So I've seen this term brought up a a lot recently and I'm still trying to understand the idea behind it. My understanding is it's like imaginary friends but Serious Business. Any insight would be appreciated.
