I always prefer third-person games to first. I like being able to see around me.
And not being locked to the ground.
I can't wait until this game is released. I'm antecipating it more than any other game I've ever antecipated before. It seems like it's going to be awesome.
April can't arrive soon enough.
I was looking at pre-odering the game online.
The collector's edition is $80 (I should not...) and the RADNET edition is only $60.
I remember when games that big used to only be fifty dollars...the horror. O_O
One thing that's been bothering me after it was pointed out on another forum: Armor hasn't shown up since the initial reveal trailer. And the devs have only shown off the shield. I know it's stupid to assume, but I'm kind of worried they might have taken it out. It was my favorite power partly on account of how badass it looked.
I hope not! Armor was Awesome Yet Practical !
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Maybe they increased the badass-ness of the armour but want us to see for ourselves after buying the game!
ARCHITECT POWAHHH! Will soon be posting as 'Firebird'... [[http://tinyurl.com/ttwiktlk Wiki Talk SubforI'm hoping that's the case. Plus, I imagine it's kind of hard to show off, being more or less an alternate skin with damage resistance. I don't recall armor showing up in promos for the first one, either.
It popped up in a few previews. I remember seeing one no X-play, back when I didn't know about sites like Giant Bomb.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaToo bad there won't be a Five Bad Band on this game.
The screenshots I've seen of the Armour power in P2 show it looking rather disappointingly similair to the one in the first game.
I'd be more disappointed if it were some kind of "beast form", like it's been implied.
Beast Form... I'd prefer "Tank-Mode".
ARCHITECT POWAHHH! Will soon be posting as 'Firebird'... [[http://tinyurl.com/ttwiktlk Wiki Talk SubforWhile playing Crackdown 2, I recalled the obvious parallels to Prototype and thought that Alex would fit great in Pacific City. There's always Freaks and Peacekeepers to eat.
Though, it's got a lot more scenary than NYZ, and the citizens do a lot more stuff. Like give random speeches and there's another guy who even sings and plays guitar.
Well, I hope at least the new Prototype will still be fun.
It has got to be. It's PROTOTYPE!
ARCHITECT POWAHHH! Will soon be posting as 'Firebird'... [[http://tinyurl.com/ttwiktlk Wiki Talk SubforThe Armour in P1 looked badass, but I never used it in actual missions. Yeah, you take less damage, but because of the decreased mobility I found myself getting hit more. I'd rather have the option of quickly legging it if things get hectic.
I'm really looking forward to the sequel. The first game is one of the most fun games I've ever played. There's only a couple of things that really pissed me off in it, and if they've fixed those I'll be happy. The first one is the frustratingly difficult bosses (looking at you, Supreme Hunter), and the other is the lock-on system. It probably seemed like a good idea to have it default to the most threatening target in your line of sight, but when you just want to lock on to the zombie right in front of you and it keeps going to the tank two blocks behind you, it's seriously irritating.
What annoyed me was the tanks. >:/
They follow you. They always shoot at the Infected right behind you. And they're harder to break then the helicopters.
Often when I'd come across one I'd climb in as a marine just to "deactivate" them.
I still don't understand why you couldn't dodge roll in armor. I can jump thirty feet in the air or run at 30 KM/H but I can't roll slightly to the left?
I wouldn't mind a beast-form power. Hulking out and fucking up an entire city block would be so satisfying.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? It's very rigid armor?
Even that armor wasn't great against all those missles. Every time I try running up a building in it something would knock me off...
The helicopters were the worst for me. Every time I try to smack one down, I either miss or I run out of things to throw. Then when I finally whip it to death, ANOTHER helicopter comes to fight me after I beat the first. So annoying.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. What I did was a fully charged up Musclemass airkick. One-Hit Kill every time.
I tried that, but either I got shot down by a missile or I missed my mark completely. Eventually I just took to running like my virus-y life depended on it whenever I spotted one.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. Also Armor.
Or, airkick and right before you connect, grab onto it, hi-jack it, and kill the rest.
It's good in a way though. You may be a person of mass destruction but that doesn't mean the military and the Infected can't put up a challenge.
Which bugged me about it. The catharsis fades when they get too good to fight you. ;P
I have to agree. The run speed is just so gloriously fast. It's probably one of the only games this generation where just moving around is fun as hell.
